Props to Georgia they were the better team. They made less mistakes and their D came up with the stop when they needed two. Two great teams played today, with two great qb's. Unfortunately we came up short.
We knew D was suspect. Now we know it is bad. Doesn't matter who or why, but it is not there. I remain a fan and will shout Geaux Tigers, but from here on in, I am looking for great plays when we can get them. Could be a long road but Geaux Tigers to the end. But damn, we scored a lot of points, on the road, to lose.
Yes there were blown coverages, but let's not take away from what Murray and Georgia did. That's a great offense we saw on the field.
I'm not usually this calm after a loss, but somehow I am. The offense was just as amazing as they have been. Great job offense. Anytime you score 41 points on the road in the SEC (against a top 10 team no less), you should win the game. To be fair, Georgia's defense sucked balls too. But on that final drive they got the job done. Our D-line got no pressure on Murray all day, and get secondary were absolutely horrible. Heads need to roll after that debacle today. But kudos to Mettenberger and the offense. Even after the anemic run game in the first half they pulled together and had a good second half effort. No excuses can explain the secondary letting receivers run free time after time time after time. That's got to get better as the season progresses. It's a shame they let Mett down in a game that was clearly huge for him as well as for the team. On to Miss. St.
They held serve at home, our defense was exposed. We buckle down, we worked on it and we try to win out hoping for a rematch in the Georgia Dome where Mett can have his revenge.
Even though Tigers were on the losing end, it was a great game going back and forth. Tigers have some issues to fix and they need to do it asap. The muffed punt was the difference imo.
