I think it's clear that they were listening to CNN and (falsely) believing that Hillary had victory sewn up. They cannot even begin to conceive of being on the losing side of anything, apparently. I was a college senior when Bill Clinton was elected President in '92, but I got over it and finished out my semester just fine.
