Football season has offically started. The highs and the lows. The Monday morning quarter backs . It is sad when any player gets hurt. As we all know Ally will be missed.

I just hope he gets a full recovery and starts where he left off next year and has two great years. He can leave this school with the same recognition as Marcus Spears did.

By all accounts, AB's a hard worker with a great attitude. Once he gets over the initial disappointment I'm sure he'll tackle his rehab with the same enthusiasm he had in punishing opposing defenders. Keep your chin up AB, work hard, and look forward to a great 2006. :geauxtige

We play in a tough league and injuries are part of the game. This is the reason that is is essential to have depth to win the SEC. Every team in the league is going to take injuries. LSU lost starting running backs to season-ending injuries three years in a row in recent years (Toefield, Dominick Davis, Addai). Stockpiling talent at key positions really helps at these times.

    Fortunately for LSU:
    1. Broussard was running at #2 behind Addai, so we haven't lost our starter . . . yet.
    2. LSU has three very capable backs remaining.
    3. Early rumor is that the knee injury is repairable and Broussard's chances for complete recovery are very good.
    4. Broussard still has a redshirt year available and will be able to return as a junior next year. He'll still have two seasons to prove himself to the NFL.

LSU really needed to stagger these running backs anyway, but this is a tough way to do it.

If Broussard is a beast and he was second BEHIND Addai........then Addai must really be a beast. Addai will make up for Broussard, but it's still going to be a big loss. That 1-2 combination between Addai and Broussard was just unbelieveable. I was looking forward to a combo. like Ronnie-Caddy.

Don't forget about R.J. Jackson. This kid is good...and could easily be another Freshman Vincent.

Here's our depth chart at RB.

    #1. Addai
    #2. Vincent
    #3. Shyrone Carey
    #4 R.J. Jackson
    #5. Antonio Robinson

    We are still stacked....:geauxtige :crystal:

Carey, Vincent, and Addai are good enough that the freshman can take their redshirts, I think. Also Hester is a natural running back that is being played at fullback to get him into the game since RB is stacked. If needed, he could make the switch. Jimbo plays tight ends at fullback mostly anyway.

well... we lost a VERY good player, however just think how good our team can be since they're working at full-speed. Injuries are never good, but I think we'll more than make up for the injury with the extra toughness our team gains. Plus, maybe this can lead to jimbo "airing it out" a bit more, a la Davey-Reed...? Who knows? Quite frankly, this is LSU, and we still have a SERIOUS multitude of weapons available.

Alley will come back better then ever.

We have the ammo to reload at RB but he will be missed.

Get better, Alley....I want to see you finish off strong at LSU!!!

Extremely sorry to hear this. I saw it this morning on ESPN and felt horrible for the kid. I know you guys have a stable of backs that can get the job but prayers go out for Alley on a personal level.
