Really sorry to hear about the terrible injury to Ally. For my money, this guy was the top back in the whole conference. Second-team my ass. Line up every back in the conference, I'd pick Ally first every time.

As much as Auburn and LSU fans sometimes hate each other (literally), you won't find an Auburn fan that doen't feel for this guy. It's just a shame to see bad stinking luck like this hold back someone with such talent.

I damn well love football. I know you people feel the same way, but it really brings me happiness watching extraordinary football players play the game better than anyone around them, no matter who they play for. And Ally is a beast. Here's hoping he gets his medical reshirt and comes back even stronger next year. :thumb:

Again condolences for the loss. Football or no football, at least he's going to be OK.

I'm also curious why some don't mentoin Shyrone Carey, who was the featured back in the first win against Ga. in '03. He is very shifty and is a flatout player.
I wouldn't feel too uncomfortable if Les sticks E. Doucet back there for special plays, considering how good Early's current build, work ethic and h.s. films look.
Nevertheless, losing Broussard hurts almost as much as when I heard Cecil went down in '97. A bruiser, who can take it to the house.

I just got home and saw the news about Broussard. That does truly suck. It sucks way more for him than us though. I can't even imagine how hard that must be to go through all that work to get injured right before the season starts. Man that's tough.

While I hate that and he will be sorely missed, I'm not worried about our running game. We still have 3 backs with big game experience (Addai, Carey & Vincent), and all are quality backs that have started at some point for us. It will be nice to see Carey get a shot to redeem himself. I always felt bad for him losing his job getting injured in 03, and then he seemed to get on Saban's bad side with the whole trying-to-sell-his-tickets thing. It will also be nice for Vincent to get a shot to re-establish himself as a dependable back. And it will also be nice for a younger back or two to get some playing time. Everyone was so worried in 03 when Addai and Carey both went down, but the younger guys stepped up. Maybe we'll see that again this year. Who knows?

But the point is we certainly aren't lacking in quality running back depth. I am going to miss getting to see AB run this year though.

Probably because Miles doesn't want LSU to have another Oregon St. like performance. Saban's teams always started out too slowly IMO. Also see Virginia Tech. That half speed Semi-Contact didn't help Amp Hill. Can't put red/green shirts on all the starters, we are going into battle not playing chess. I hope Alley makes a full recovery and comes back in 2006 ready to go. Yes, this hurts us, but we do have 2 Frosh that can play tailback in R.J. Jackson & Antonio Robinson, to go along with Addai, Vincent & Carey. Also expect to see Korte in short yardage.

Gotta feel for Alley....hopefully he can use that intensity on the sideline to keep the other backs focused.....just a bad break for a quality young man....

From what I have seen Alley has worked hard while at LSU. With a red shirt year and his work ethic Alley should only get stronger and be a huge threat to the SEC for his two remaining years.

How about AB for Hiesman his Senior year. :thumb:

This early in practice? Hell, we only have 3 weeks left to prepare for the season. You can't expect starters to be ready if they don't scrimmage and have some contact.

This is football. Injuries happen. It sucks for Alley b/c I think he was going to have a big year, but we have depth at RB and should be fine without him.

The doom and gloomers fail to realize we still have one of the best backfields in the country. While Ally will be missed and I hope he makes a speedy and full recovery, I don't think we have much to worry about.
