After the long beards
Always been one of my favorite music factoids that the ZZ Top member who doesn't have a beard is named Beard.
I've heard a number of lifelong Morgan City residents, usually older than me, say ZZ used to play the bar scene here all the time in the early 70's before they hit it big, but that's before my time.
can't get enough of this song, the lead singer is a very cool mofo
You guys are hitting on a couple of my favorite bands. Fortunate to see both several times. Think ZZ was way better early.
I wore the grooves of Tres Hombres and Fandango. The Eagles on the Border album is one of the best ever.
Loves this one.
On the Border might be my favorite Eagles' song
or maybe this is
"Desperado",.. is definitely my favorite album of their's, has been since 1975
Great album! That song was the only one on the album not written by an Eagle? Seems the internet is good for a something after all. Been on a you tube binge found some great stuff. Check out this one (forgive me if this has been posted here before). Check out the guitar work from Dickie Betts and Warren Hayes. It gets special about the 4 minute mark. Lord what has happened to music over the last 20 years or so.
I did but never get tired of watching it.
Lkf - Greg had the song written but didn't have a name in place because nothing he tried was working for him. He was in a grocery store one day and heard a guy call out for his either wife/gf "Melissa"
or something like that, may be off a bit but close enough for a hand grenade
I looked up the chords for Melissa and it looked really hard to play. Then I saw this video that makes it easy.
