I wasn't really a fan, I liked, "the Letter", but he wasn't my style,.. somehow I ended up with a Joe Cocker LP, his songs, he, just grows on you,.. I ended up playing that album a lot.
I recorded these from my brother's soundcloud channel. Most of his stuff is solo acoustic but these are with his band. I would be interested to know what y'all think.
I saw Joe perform many years ago outdoors @Red Rocks outside of Denver. He put on a hell of a performance. He had the place rocking & jamming including this old white dude.
That is impressive. I could only imagine seeing him at RR. That is one amazing venue. I have a USMC buddy that can see it from his house. He doesn't know it yet but I am going to be moving into his spare bedroom soon because there are a lot of great shows there and I plan to see them. Like if any of you are a fan of live music and have not seen a show there, put it on your bucket list and then MAKE IT HAPPEN. Be in shape, it is a hike up to the theater but it is gradual, the beer is outrageously overpriced but there is also enough second hand pot smoke to get you higher than eagle pussy so you don't really need it or you can just smoke your own now a days. The place is amazing and the sound is the best you will ever hear. You won't be sorry.
I was 23 and in great shape when I saw Jethro Tull at Redrocks. Now, not so much. Can I take an Uber uphill? I can roll down on my own.
They don't call it Red "Rocks" for nothing. It is literally all ROCKS. Sure, you can roll down, you will be a bloody fucking mess when you hit the bottom but sure. Go for it
