Steve Miller was good. I didn't see the whole set. But the sound was like listening to their hits on the radio. Seeing any of the bands I saw live was exciting because of watching the people react. Lots of good girl watching...lots.
If you go to the jazzfest and you want to be cool, wear something else besides Hawaiian and tie dyed freaking shirts.
For anyone around Bay St. Louis, next Saturday SeraBee and my brother are playing. Sera was on The Voice several years back, did really well. She has one of the most powerful voices you will ever hear.
Great voice. I had never heard of her so I googled. She was born in Kiln, MS, birthplace and home of Brett Favre. With her talent I hope she is bigger time than playing in Italian restaurants in Mississippi.
She actually still calls Kiln home. The unfortunate thing is that the vast majority of professional musicians make their livings in clubs and such. With streaming services refusing to pay musicians, even the winners of shows like The Voice, they still make very little. Sera and Keenan have been playing together for about 25 years now. They are both professionals in their own right, and both have to play clubs and such to make much money. Spotify has a 51.5% market share and pays artists less than 0.4 cents per play. Meanwhile, their executives make millions each year. There is so much great local, live music all over the country. I support this type of music by paying to see the performances and buying their cd's. It's the only way these guys can continue to do what they do. BTW, @shane0911 , Serabee is playing at the Bogalusa Blues Fest this year.
