This was so good I watched it twice. Pretty sure I was there for this live show. The Neville Brothers used to close the Jazz Fest every year.

All guitarists make mistakes. They great ones cover them up. Stevie Ray Vaughn doesn't make mistakes.

Not Eddie Cochran's, not the Who's, not even Rush's,.. the best version of "Summertime Blues" is done by, "Blue Cheer"

    There's no accounting for taste.

wiki:.. Based in San Francisco, Blue Cheer played in a psychedelic blues rock style, and are also credited as being some of the earliest pioneers of heavy metal, with their cover of "Summertime Blues" sometimes cited as the first in that genre.

I was 14, living in San Francisco when this song came out, loved it, couldn't hear it enough. luckily it was being played all over the City, so I heard it a lot. Then "The Who", released their version, which was good, but like Cochran's, seemed silly compared to "BC's",..That killed Blue Cheer's radio play time though,.. and poof it was gone,.. I never heard my favorite version for 40 years,.. then some time back, I ran across it on youtube,.. whooped with joy when I saw it.

It's why they make vanilla and chocolate ice cream each to his own. Wished Cochran would have lived same for Buddy Holly, would have been interesting to see their evolution. Like some remakes such as Hendrix doing Dylans All Along the Watch Tower blew me away. John Mayer does a good version of the song
