It's an awesome story, but using the "old gang" to play it made it a bit predictable in nature. Think I would have liked it better had they used some fresh faces. Mob flicks are hurting for some new talent these days. Boardwalk Empire did really well with introducing new talent. Irish mob, now that is where it is at these days. Peaky Blinders is an insanely great series.

Just saw 'Once Upon A Time in Hollywood'. Again, i shy away from long movies but heard great reviews. I'd rank it similar to The Irishman, 4/5 stars. Great cast, engaging movie - definitely something 'fresh' and kinda unique. And love all the retro detail.

All you have to know is DiNiro, Pacino and Peschi to know it's a mob movie.

Anyone watching the Netflix series, Messiah? I'm kinda digging it. It is not very predictable and it does a pretty good job of playing both sides of whether this dude is legit or not. Interested in seeing how this plays out. Even more interested in seeing if martin is watching...

We r going back and watching Justified. I swear I know some of the characters in that show.

without doubt the most authentic portrayal of southern redneck I’ve ever seen.

    2 movie recommendations:

Ready or Not - (3.5/5) crazy kind of 'From Dust til Dawn' type of movie. Good fun.
Wind River - (4/5) very good mystery sort of movie. Slow in the beginning, but still engaging. And great pay off. Will be more memorable than most i think.

"American Made" - (3/5) kinda fascinating true story, okay movie....loved the late '70s & '80s history and the connection to Baton Rouge/South La. Worth watching cause of that, but not an award winner.

"Jumanji: The next level" - (4/5) good story, great special effects. Compelling fantasy. Definitely worth watching.

"Uncut Gems" - (3.5/5) the way it was filmed and cut you can feel how frantic and chaotic, "flying by the seat of his pants" this guy's life is. At first feels a little 'B' level, then you realize it might be different but it's really good. Great payoff.
