We used to have the 1976 Midway with Charlton Heston on VHS. My dad would fast forward through those scenes.

I'm guessing you will be let down. Another Pearl Harbor, loaded with CGI effects of aerodynamically impossible flying, inaccuracies, and a stupid fictional back story. Find a copy of the original and watch it instead.

Yeah you may be right. Pearl Harbor was a dud. All the women were absurdly beautiful all the guys were too pretty to look like real soldiers and the special effects were more like Star Wars. Lastly they cast that liberal retard Alec Baldwin as James Doolittle. Kate Beckinsale is a hot babe though.

Just read that in the last week and a half, an ongoing expedition to find sunken WWII ships believes it has located the Akagi and the Kaga. They were the 2 largest Japanese carriers at both Pearl Harbor and Midway. Both were found by sonar at about 18,000 feet, which puts them about 1.5 times as deep as the Titanic, so I doubt there will be manned expeditions to see them any time soon.

"The Irishman" was very good - 4/5 stars. Considered not watching it because it runs 3+ hours, and it's a rare movie that's good enough for that length - but it had my interest the hold time. Didn't look at my watch or complain that the movie should have been much shorter.

Stumbled on "The House" with Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell. Although it has poor reviews i really liked it. Stupid, goofy comedy, but i laughed quite a bit. 3.5/5 stars.

I'm almost half way through it, Good but those actors are all in their 7os. The scenes set in the 5os and 60s the real people involved were in their 3os and 40s for the most part.

yea, watching the movie i noticed they were playing parts younger than their real age. After a bit i didn't think about it much, but it was noticeable.
