I knew Auburn would probably win, but geez...I guess I thought Miami would garner more votes

Not to take issue with the "overrated" thing, because the way we played, that's an inevitable conclusion. I just hope we change that perception by year's end.

But, I don't understand the line, "it's not like they finished the year strong last season..." I mean, Auburn went 5-1 in it's last 6 games. That was against 4 teams that were in the top 10 when we played them. The one loss was a 3 point, last minute loss to a Georgia team that went 13-1. It also included a win over Alabama (who finished 10-3) with our 4th string tailback and a TE that lined up at FB for the first time in that game. How is that not finishing strong?

Gotta agree with TitanTiger(AU) on this one (The sign of the Apocolypse), Auburn finished the year off on a tear, hammering LSU, Alabama and beating Penn St.
The problem was they were so far behind it didn't really matter anymore in the SEC race...

That is the whole reason they got all the hype was how they finished the year.

    Good point...Let me rephrase:

It's not like they were dominant all of last season--they lost games that, quite frankly, they should NOT have. You don't lose games you should win and ledgitimately be a top 5 team.

I went with auburn, TSN picked them #1, almost everyone picked them to run all over everyone w/ ronnie brown and cadillac williams, they don't have enough carries for all those running backs, etc. (not enough carries because they couldn't get a 1st down).

I didn't pick miami because, it's hard to get up for la tech when you have fla next week. la tech blew a golden opportunity for the biggest upset of the year.

I didn't pick south carolina because it's hard to get up for USL (I graduated from there and still call it that). When you have virginia next week. I also don't have too much expectations for them.

I don't really know too much about kansas st. but feel they are overrated.

va tech really looked good (imo). They jumped all over ucf, (28-0) then let ucf get back in it, then dominated them again. It's hard to stay focused when the coaching staff is putting in 2nd string in the 1st half.

old miss should have lost! I still don't/didn't expect anything from them so they couldn't/shouldn't be a disappointment.

Well, I guess for Miami standards, they should have just absolutely handled Tech. They killed them, don't get me wrong, but there was nothing Miami like besides Frank Gore. If this was last years team or 2 years ago team, it would have been 66-7. So I guess I just feel like, based on years past, Miami just isn't the complete team it was. The QB has so much to do with the team and I am just not sold on Brock...
