"A man was shot and killed by police officers shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the bustling Huntington Beach Sports Complex in the 18000 block of Goldenwest Street – filled with hundreds of children and parents, authorities said. Huntington Beach Police Chief Robert Handy said a man in his 20s was running through the park and its various sports fields, chasing children. Witnesses told police dispatchers that Schiltz was hitting trees with a bat-like object and chasing children with a broken bottle. Handy said Schiltz ran from the batting cages to the fields where children as young as 10 were playing. Officers intercepted Schiltz near bleachers filled with people watching a soccer practice. Two officers opened fire as Schiltz was approaching a large group of people." This dude has a long list of violent issues and drug problems. His own mother obtained a restraining order for her son in 2013 after reporting he had threatened relatives with a baseball bat, pool sticks and other items. She wrote that he drank, used drugs, made holes in walls and talked about killing himself and his family. "My son, harassed me and threatened his family for hours at no end of stopping,” she continued in the restraining order application. “He continues to drink alcohol heavily and possible illegal drugs too. However, he also has a medical marijuana license, which he frequently consumes on a daily basis. " So what did she do after he was shot and killed? Angela Hernandez was back at the scene of the shooting with her attorney filing a wrongful death claim against the Huntington Beach Police Department....Hernandez doesn’t believe her son went on a rampage in the city, attorney Michael Guisti said. “She’s pretty heartbroken,” the lawyer told the Associated Press. “The story that he’s threatening people, or running away, that he was any sort of danger, she said that doesn’t make any sense compared to the guy she knows and his personality.” WTF....seriously. Your son was fucked up, he threatened kids for God's sake and now she wants money because the police did their job to protect innocent lives.

You kind of make your own bed when you make those comments about how your son is all f'd up and attacked you. My lawyer told me once that anyone can sue for anything. This seems to be a case of that.
