Tiger is playing pretty well -- he's been better than I thought. Has a chance to position himself nicely.
Interesting first day. Watson looked really good in practice, as did Couples. Both of them were hitting it straight and Couples was throwing darts at the greens. Surprised Tiger was as good as he was but I guess we shouldnt be. He just looked so bad on Monday. Not surprised Toms played well because he looked really good in practice too. One thing I found out on Monday is Augusta has 2 laser site stations on each hole. They log every shot made on the course in practice and tournament play. There are 2 guys at each one of these stations that input distance and location of every ball hit. They input the data into a GPS device that apparently transmits the information to a central location somewhere in the club house. Supposedly the competition committee uses this data on a daily basis to setup the course.
I'm not a big golfing guy, but I heard Tiger hit two eagles yesterday. That's cool. Also read that he shot a 68 or a 69 which is his best opening day at Augusta ever. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
