Nah. It's his mother's fault. Has all the good looking genes but got shortchanged when it comes to brains.

You watch too much tv. School grounds are very cliquish. For the most part, nerds, athletes, and gangstas don't associate. Like a prison yard, sorta.

JMO, but I think overall, public education in the US would be better served by eliminating the DoE and letting the states determine their own educational needs.

Quality of education varies from state to state. Public schools here are better than the private ones. Not being an educator, I have no idea why they are different here than in Louisiana

Education right now gives a Hobson’s Choice. One of the reasons public schools suck today is that the parents who demand better send their kids to private school if they can. There are not enough parents invested in quality public education. I believe much can be blamed on too many parents’ reaction to integration in the 60’ and 70’s. Taking the kids whose parents are most demanding out of the public education sector lessened the demand for quality public education and support for funding it. Public schools got worse and federal regulation became onerous all reducing the ability and resources to have a god public education system
This is part of what leads to a stratified society and must be changed. Part it’s vouchers. Vouchers have been shown to be most helpful to those in the lower socioeconomic class. Part is demanding better of schools teachers and students. As @mctiger said, eliminate the DOE and send the money back to the states on a per capita basis.
None of that’s easy but something like that needs to be done.

I’ve seen first hand what vouchers do to a private school and it isn’t good.

Yeah, those nerd prison gangs are pretty tough. Fuck with them and you'll never win at dungeons and dragons again.
