The Biden administration will not suddenly have a new mission it didn't already have. The Biden administration will not have new legal authority it didn't already have. The Biden administration will not have new monitoring capabilities it didn't already have. The Biden administration will not have new private allies in that quest it didn't already have. Apparently, the motive for announcing a "Board" was to alert the public that the administration recognizes a problem and is actively doing something about it, and wants some employees entirely dedicated to it, but the goals and methods were already entirely within the scope of DHS authority, which is why I don't care one way or another about a "board" or some new job titles.

They are going to use it to persecute those that don't agree with them or toe the line. DHS was started to protect us from foreign terrorism and terror attacks on our soil. The Washington swamp has transformed it all into a way to spy on US citizens including co-opting big tech into becoming an arm of "state security". Federal intelligence agencies have turned inward and now spend more time spying on it's own citizens than doing decent work overseas. Throw in political actions, salting and staging/entrapment, fake FISA / fake charges from the once great FBI and the average American doesn't have a freaking chance. This isn't the United States anymore and hasn't been for a while. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.
