lots of things "could have" happened. its not fair to judge people on bad things they "could have" done.

you keep speculating on things with no evidence of them happening, then claiming we were at risk. we were not.

yes. its like if your cat tried to kill you. it cant.

many people believe that the only reason your cat doesnt eat you is that it cannot. larger cats, like lions. they dont give a shit, they will tear your apart. there are no real differences in temperament between two, just size. but its ok if you cat wants to kill you, because a failed attempt is not very bad if it had no chance to ever work.

its like if a homeless man tried to kill me, but he did it with mind control. he tried to levitate me up the air and drop me to my death. so what? he can do that to me all day every day if he wants, i dont care.

so yes, it matters how serious the attempt is to succeed.

People are judged on what they tried to do all the time. Trump tried to overturn the election and usurp the presidency. He should be judged on that.

Your analogy sucks. It wasn’t a cat trying to kill a person or a crazy man trying to levitate you. It was a serious attempt to subvert the constitution and usurp power. That it failed is only to luck, the courage of Mike Pence and the rest of the Congress to not be intimidated by the mob.

How long did this serious attempt to subvert the constitution and usurp power last? Were Pence and the rest of Congress standing at the Capitol entrance blocking entry?

You know the answer to that. Comments like yours show how unserious you are about this whole episode. If you’re going to continue on this line there’s no discussion.

I don't feel that our country was as threatened as much as you do. Do I think that Trump was a fool for his actions leading up to January 6th and the day itself? Absolutely.

so is the cat! he really would kill you if he could. the analogy is magnificent.

make the same analogy with a child if you like. it really matters how credible the attempt is. there was no hope of insurrrection. the country was never in danger. when we ask you to describe the specific danger you list things that "could have" happened.

well, basically every person is a terrible criminal if we indict them for the crimes they could commit.

again, the point i am trying to get across is that there are levels of seriousness and threat.

do you concede it would have been less of a big deal if the riot had been one person, who was confined to a wheechair? you must! there are degrees to how dangerous and serious it is! and these guys had zero chance to do anything, and in fact they couldnt even keep the building from doing business for more than what, 2 hours?

he told the guys to go home and be peaceful. he didnt try to overturn the election, his contention is that he won the election, he wanted it not overturned.

Trump didn’t storm the capital though. He tried to change via the courts like HRC did with the Russia nonsense.

If Trump was leading the charge instead of the Viking, I would probably agree with you it was a Trump lead insurrection; however, this was not the case.
