I've been around. I know it's bad. I just think people are spoiled. Myself included. If we can not have the full tailgating experience from 6:00 am - midnight, then we think the campus can not handle the game. I think that for 4-6 hours, they will be able to pull it off. Is traffic any more or less bad than again for the Rita game when we still had 100,000+ from NOLA? Nah, it wasn't. I mean, yes, there are some situations and some circumstances that are not ideal to everyone. But I just do not think moving the game to the middle of nowhere is what is best for the team. They'd rather be in a half-empty Tiger Stadium (if it comes to that) than to be away from their families in Atlanta.
i think most fans agree that, for a lot of reasons, atl is the worst place to hold the game. to me, even considering atl is a
I'm torn. I want LSU to play but I hate playing at the expense of those in need of restored public services. I think the University and Martin have already screwed this up by not planning for weather days and forcing the issue on classes having to restart too soon because of that. It has undoubtedly stressed the repair effort. I wanna play, Im ready for a game but...ya know? Damn Hurricanes in Louisiana just pizz me off.:cuss:
Their best opportunity is probably to work during the LSU game. They say the city shuts down. But they probably want to see the Tigers play too.
Aren't there a number of hotels there that accommodate out of towners? Like all of them? If power losses are city wide, wouldn't that effect various hotels/motels?
My thoughts on the post-game traffic issue: Even if lights are out, the majority of those crucial ones will have cops on them to regulate the extra traffic.
LSU's campus is more than ready for this game. Tree branches on the ground is all the evidence left that a hurricane ever passed. As far as TS. I just got back from campus. All the lights are on in the stadium and they are working through the night to get everything back right. The stadium will be ready. Now baton rouge as a city handling all those people. The businesses and restaurants around Baton Rouge are begging for things to get back to normal. All this curfew and babying Baton Rouge is killing all businesses. I realize people still don't have power. 30% of Entergy and 27% of Demco homes across the state. But it's time for everything else to get back to normal. Now all of this is assuming IKE is going to Texas. If it comes here, everything i said goes out the window.
DING... I am upset because I assumed the curfew would be gone a week after the storm hit. I was going to get some food.... There are a number of businesses that thrive on night crowds: both the bars and the restaurants that host them after 2am. Things can't get back to normal until we let it be.
