The fallacy of your comment is shown by the signing of Mett and Keil. Apparently those two top flight QBs are coming to sit on the bench?

That JJ was the best QB available is a sad comment I grant but it isn't pumping sunshine to point out the flaws in your argument.

We seem to continue to sign top flight recruits and even QBs. Let the results change before you see the sky falling.

The team is certainly talking about Lee not playing.

Scout.com: Lee left sitting on the sideline

It isn't a secret within the athletic department and there is good reason why they want it behind closed doors because it protects the players from scrutiny and puts it all on the coaches and that is what Les and the rest of the staff are good at and a reason players and recruits trust them. But if it was out then many would see a cetain player in a different light. Just sayin... but I am not going to continue to drop hints and try to convince anyone. And I have only dropped hints on half of the equation. I don't dislike this certain player in the least and actually feel bad for him because of things outside of football but don't agree with how he handled the circumstances.

QB play was not the only problem. The offensive game plan was timid and vanilla and the OL was dominated by Bama's front 7 but JJ could not execute anything. He ran the option scared, slow, and his timing was way off. When he did have a man open down the field he missed him - badly. But to hear Jefferson tell it, he made "great decisions". I'm not usually one to criticize a player but JJ projects a selfish arrogance I can't stand. As far as JJ is concerned, there may be no "I' in team but there is a "me".

The thought crossed my mind last night that JJ was on the take. Now, i'm not claiming any point shaving scandals. However, in my younger days, when I regularly bet football with my bookie, I may have thought differently. Had I bet LSU then...and JJ played like that....I would have been crying foul! He did look that bad, and I use to be one of those classic paranoid gamblers.

    P.S. Check JJ's bank records.

Well, "insiders" always have rumors they won't share. Fans expect some basic honesty from the coach, though.

If a player did something so bad that he is benched for a season, even at the risk of a championship, and that nobody can talk about it, then he should have been suspended or dismissed "for breaking team rules" or whatever line they usually use. Then the fans aren't being deceived.

But for a coach to say that a player is eligible, ready to play, and in the game plan and then overtly and publicly snub him . . . then we are being lied to. And this is why all the negativity is raining on Les today and may continue all off-season.

Whatever Lee's offense was, now the team, the coach, and the fan community all have to pay for it, because the perception is that it contributed to the loss of the championship.

Exactly Red. If there is a reason why Lee wasn't going to play, then he at least should have been demoted to 3rd string. What's the point of having a backup QB who can't play. Even Mett would have given us a chance last night.

Should we have been rooting for JJ to get hurt? Is that the only way Lee was getting in?

Exactly... what Miles wanted to do. Put it on him no matter what. Lee knows and that is all that matters if he wants to believe it or not.

Fans can feel decieved but as long as he doesn't deceive his players he can live with it.

Lee was ready to play and in the game plan in case of injury but that was the only way he was going to play meaningful snaps like all backup QBs.
