It's pretty sad when your QB is your opponents' MVP. I'm not sure what anybody ever saw in Jefferson but as I figured, we couldn't win the title with him exclusively at QB. He's too one-dimensional and not very smart. His lack of progress with three years of opportunities really showed last night. I just pity the fool who gets stuck with jersey #9 next year. They should retire that number for a few years. Almost everybody on that field had a future in football...with the exception of Jefferson and the Alabama kicker.
We have heard all We have heard all we are going to hear . les made a choice , his reasons we will never know , not because of anything J Lee did or did not do. I do know Les did not put our best players in the game , we ran simple plays that fit the non style of JJ. We are picked to play USC in the BCS TITLE GAME in 2013 , if that helps our feelings . OKla was picked to play in our spot this season , . Look what happened to them. I am a bit worried about next season now , I would like to be preason 8th than 1st .
My wife thinks JJ threw the game. Well, I don't agree with that, but if I was an outsider looking at this game, I would have thought so with the way he was playing. One of his late "passes" hit the ground right in front of a Bama defender, and another looked as though it were passed right to Bama. Although, after looking at the replay, it looked like he was gunning for no. 11 but he turned his back too quick to see the pass. JJ saw his error almost immediately and made the tackle... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0virxAjg5wE]C.J. Mosley INT and injury - YouTube[/ame] I take comfort in the fact that there will be no JJ or JL next season. I am looking forward to new skill at the QB position.
An experienced senior . . . The best passing efficiency in the SEC . . . 9-0 as a starter this year . . . 14 TDs / 3 ints . . . And Les never even talked to Lee on the sidelines. Les said not playing Lee was "my decision", suggesting that the press box may have called for him. There is SOMETHING going on here and all of them are trying to take the high road right now . . . but it is all going to come out in time.
I understand all that. But CLM is paid for a complete body of work. Are you saying that he should get a pass last night because of 13-0? We earned this 14th game and CLM owed the LSU Nation his best last night. FAIL !
You're right Tap. Only JJ gets credit for wins while playing sub par football and getting saved by his teammates. Come on Red! You know the deal.
If last night was the first time that Jefferson had ever played like that, I'd be entertaining that thought. But we've seen that sort of performance before, so there is some basis for such an awful performance.
This is correct. Lee did start 9 games that LSU won. It doesn't matter that Jefferson came in, and after the 2nd pick Lee didn't come back in. Lee started and actually, Lee is 9-0 as a starter this year, Jefferson is 4-1.
I don't think the QB was the problem last night. The whole offensive philosophy and inability to block was the problem. Lee could have handed off just as well as Jefferson. And JJ was getting hit in the backfield almost from the moment he set up for a pass. Lee would have just lobbed up a wounded duck in desperation. This was not an offense built on the passing game and it stung us bad last night. Hopefully with incoming arms, the offensive philosophy will change, receivers will be taught how to run routes, play schemes with play action, bootlegs etc will be installed, ....
