I choose to believe there is an insidious side to this, that will remain secret. If not, cookoo, cookoo, cookoo!
Maybe someday someone will write a book and reveal what is behind Miles' blind loyalty to Jordan Jefferson. Loyalty to Jefferson at the expense of the rest of the team and the fans and a championship. I've always been a Miles supporter even in the early years when most were calling for his head, but I just don't understand what it is with Jefferson. He doesn't show the same loyalty to any other player - RB's are benched without a thought, JL couldn't sniff a down, T-Bob Hebert warmed the bench all night, Russell Shephard was an afterthought. What is it about Jefferson????? Does he have pictures of Miles in a cocktail dress kissing a goat? It's almost a UM/TT type love-affair without the championships. I just don't get it but I am ecstatic that it is over!!
Good news is we're done with him. If not Lee I would've at least thrown Mett in there. Not the smart thing but anything would've been better. Or maybe I should say, NOTHING could've been worse.
Which is absolutely great. But to accomplish all of that and then throw this team's opportunity to win a championship away due to blind loyalty to a terrible QB....... Something just does not add up.
Something is strange about it. I don't think anyone was calling for Lee in the first half, but it was still a game late 3rd and early 4th, and to not give Lee some snaps is a real head scratcher.....
Pennsylvania - You are 100% correct, what is more Les Miles owes the Tiger Nation an explanation and in my opinion owes Jarrett Lee an apology. For the simple fact is that if it were not for Jarrett Lee this year I think everyone can agree we would not have been in the position to even play in the NC game last night. I am sorry I have been around sports a long time and benching Jarrett Lee after the Bama game "which is essentially what he did" makes no sense. The term "body of work" is bantered around a lot and in this case it needs to be used. Jarrett Lee's body of work for this year should have been taken into account, especially as poor as a first half JJ had in the LAST 3 GAMES we played. When Lee threw that second interception he was pulled, well when JJ "fumbles and throws a pick" last night why wasn't he pulled. And we all know if Jarrett Lee would not have been able to produce any first downs in the 1st half of the SEC championship game and again last night, he would have been PULLED. So why wasn't JJ pulled for a change of pace, it just doesn't make any sense there has to be a better explanation. As a diehard Tiger fan who has supported the program both financially and also with my spirit and love for the school and the program I feel we are owed a truthful explanation. Will we ever get one, not a chance but that does not change the fact that Les Miles owes the Tiger Nation an explanation as to why Jarrett Lee was benched for the last 3 games we played. Because the kid saved our asses this year and he out of everyone on this team is truly part of the Tiger family. He could have left 3 years ago and been very successful somewhere else and he man-ed up and stayed with us and we would have never been 13-0 this year without his leadership and talent. He man-ed up, now Les Miles you need to MAN UP. What happened we want and deserve to know the truth!!!!
TigerTap - you are 100% correct our program is going in the right direction and Les Miles has done a great job, anyone thinks to the contrary then all they need to do is look at our recruiting class last year and this year and then our record as you pointed out. That being said that does not mean that Miles did not screw up last night "he obviously did" and as individuals who support the school and program "I know I do" we are owed a truthful explanation. Something happened with Jarrett Lee and we deserve to know what. If you pretend nothing happened and stick your head in the sand because you don't want to be informed all that tends to happen is someone runs around spanking you on your arse because you can't see them coming.
If I were an elite quarterback I would want to go to LSU because I would recognize that the one void on this team is the quarterback position.
