I seriously don't think that after today you could find 5% of LSU fans, much less 30%, who want Flynn to start over JR. What I'm wondering is when is the Heisman talk going to start? Gameday was drooling over Brady Quinn and his 11 TDs/4 INTs as of yesterday. JR's had 7 TDs/1 INT and added 3 TDs today. 169 passer rating vs. 130 for Quinn (and that's w/o today's TDs). I just hope we let JR air it out next week against the Gators.
30-40%? I wanted to see Flynn come in (to get playing time after the game was decided), and I gave Russell a hard time before the season started, but I'm not sure how anyone can want Russell on the bench. The criticism after the Auburn game was weak. I hope those people realize that Russell is special. I've been converted; come on over, the water is fine. I doubt he'll get mentioned for heisman, but he definitely is good enough.
I don't know about the heisman stuff, but I almost guarantee JR will be the number 1 ranked QB in CFB after today. His passer rating will skyrocket after completeing 80% for 3 TD's and no int's.
JR is gone after this season even if its just a decent season... If he scores well on the wonderlic, he will be a first rounder... if not, teams may see another aaron brooks (another guy with a freakish arm that dropped about 3 rounds because of his lack of brain)... I think he is smarter than brooks, despite some of his brooksish plays...
Ugh...hate to disappoint, but the rave on Aaron Brooks coming out of college WAS because of his brains. He just became stupid as a pro...
I was in the kitchen (getting another beer :thumb: ) when I heard, what I would discribe, to be a substantial applause/cheer. I knew we hadn't scored so I immediately thought it was response to Flynn being brought it...and I was right. JR should be getting more respect than he's currently getting, IMO.
That cheer doesn't mean they'd rather see Flynn. They could have been cheering Russell's performance or cheering the fact that Miles finally decided to put in the second string qb. He waited for quite a while.
