C'mon, Tigers. No need for BS trash talk about what I consider a tremendous rivalry game. Yes, both teams are down this year, but the passion and excitement of the Iron Bowl is first-rate. I do feel that this is a "must-win" game for Tubby. I hope he wins, personally...as the saying goes, the devil you know.....
How close does this game come to causing a divorce? I do have a real question AUMorgan21, do you think if Bama wins that Tubberville will be fired? What do most Auburn fans think?
Beginning next year------- "Auburn - the new cellar of the west" starring Coach(why win them all when getting by gets me all this money)Tuberville
Neither Alabama or Auburn are having very good years. Perhaps Alabama was expected to have a down year but Auburn has simply failed to meet pre-season expectations. I think the rivalry between the two schools is such that even if both teams were 0-11 going into the game, the game would be a battle. It is one of the biggest rivalries in college football.
Absolutely. Everybody knows that. There's some joking and poking going on around here, but everybody looks forward to watching that game. Past Iron Bowl classics will be on ESPN Classic this week starting at 4pm CST. Last week, I caught a couple of LSU/Alabama games: 1985 (14 point tie score) and 1988 (LSU win by one point). Funny, I missed the classic games in which Bama won! Just lucky, I guess. :geaux: :lsug:
How about : The Birmingham Bowl............ The winner can take over Birmingham into next year... LOL
I read something in the BR paper that this was the 1st Iron Bowl in the last 3-4 years that didn't directly effect LSU's shot at an SEC West title . .does that sound right? Anyway . .there is a lot of talent playing in the game this year, with a lot of mediocre gameday coaching . .it should be interesting to watch . . CTT is gone whether we win or lose . .
Most people don't understand how intense of a rivalry between Bama & AU. I grew up in Alabama and remember family members of each school not speaking to each other a week prior and a week after. My father use to put fuel on the fire. One friend was a Bama alumn and he did things like paper the front of his house in orange and blue, then show up in the morning to take him to work. Guy never figured out who did it. He thought it was his brother, an AU alumn. It was funny! Good luck in the Iron Bowl!
There's no way I will miss this game, it should be very Entertaining. I do believe how intense the rivalry is, my cousins grew up in Alabama. Anytime you have to in state colleges in the same conference battling out for their in state recruits they have to see red as in a blood fued.
