1. Sorry, meant Lawrence Wilson.

I agree we need a CCG, but with only 11 teams, it's not really feasible. since ND won't join b/c of their own media contracts (not sure we want em now, with Charlie---I have no idea how to coach college kids-Weiss).

that said, waiting in the clubhouse has hurt B10 teams as much as it has helped them...like last year, b/c whomever is #2 and waiting is screwed as much as those who are #2 and have to play another game, if a close 3-7 team is playing a team that can help bump them up with a win. Though I will say that the OSU v UM game is pretty much the conference championship game, and has decided the conference championship 27 of the last 30 something years. (sorry, i know that's sloppy, but can't remember that number, and I know it's sad that most other teams rotate their shots at us). Not sure if there are any other teams in the midwest that we could add to the big ten, though the fans are as much for it as anyone else. A playoff/ccg would mean we wouldn't have to hear about this crap every year like we are some JV team that is spared the CCG like it wouldn't forge a conference champion in fire, something we could've really used last year.
  2. Well lets see – against Auburn LSU’s Defense was up against –

    Ryan Pugh (LT) 6-4, 282
    Tyronne Green (LG) 6-2, 308
    Jason Bosley (C) 6-2, 292
    Mike Berry (C) 6-3, 314
    Chaz Ramsey (RG) 6-4, 284
    Bart Eddins (RG) 6-4, 294
    Lee Ziemba (RT) 6-8, 297

They double and triple teamed Dorsey all day and ended having to chop block him to slow him down.

Against Florida LSU’s Defense was up against

    Jason Watkins (LT),6-6, 302
    Jim Tartt (LG), 6-3, 316
    Drew Miller (C), 6-5, 304
    Maurkice Pouncey (RG), 6-4, 313
    Carlton Medder (RT). 6-5, 319

And against VT they were against –

    Ryan Shuman (C), 6-3, 314
    Serigo Render (OG), 6-4,310
    Eric Davis, (OG), 6-7, 339
    Duane Brown, (OT), 6-5, 308
    Ed Wang (OT), 6-5, 312

Both Florida and VT double and triple teamed Dorsey all day.

The Tigers did OK against those offensive lines, I think they will be successful against OSU.

  3. This clip shows what he can do one on one. Doesn't mean he'll do it every play, but he'll win more one on one battles than he loses. Now, this was against a true freshman, but watch how he tosses him like a ragdoll. There is a reason why teams doubled him all year long.

  5. this is good stuff. very good to know, I'm definitely a stats guy. No doubt they will have some success, though to include the tackles in the equation, they are the best O Lineman we have...Alex Boone 6-8 313lb (on the official roster, though, I think he's closer to 330) and four year starter Kirk Barton 6-6 300lb.

That chop block was despicable, and I would like to think the buckeyes wouldn't resort to that kind of cheap shot. Though i think there are some double teams, with the zone read blocking scheme (assuming it works better than last year against FLA), hopefully we won't need to triple him. Although I would say that Person is probably the weak link. If he was an end, lined up against either Barton or Boone, I would feel a whole lot better about our ability to contain him. I would say the double team is more or less a given.
  6. Apologies if this has been asked and answered here...

Ohio State is officially the home team, correct? Will both bands do their normal pre-game performances, or will only Ohio State's band get that chance?
  7. Both will do it like the 04 NC.
  8. You can tell everyone is tired of waiting and talking about The Game by the number of posts in this thread the last 24 hours.
  9. Thank goodness. They could be a distraction.
