Let's hope they don't control the tempo of the game! If LSU comes out of the gate fast and out scores OSU by two to three TDs in the first and second quarters then LSU will have no problem. But if OSU keeps this a tight game with lead changes and ties then that's what OSU strength is, able to close out games and win! Again the defensive line going to have to get off the ball quick and put pressure on OSU's QB and get TOs.

I can see this is going to be a long month of speculating! :geaux:

This will be my last speculation of this game. I speculate the team who plays the best will win. That's it! Done speculating. :)

1.) C. Wells averaged fewer carries early in the year. Part of that was probably due to his ankle, part of it to keep him fresh for late in the year, and part of it to develop depth by getting reps for other backs. Tressel didn't hesitate to get him nearly 40 carries against M*ch*g*n, and if the circumstances allow it in New Orleans, he'll probably carry the ball just as much then as well.

2.) Fumbling was a problem for him last year. Thankfully, it hasn't been an issue this year.

3.) #2 on the depth chart is Maurice Wells. He is definitely not a guy who is getting goal line carries. His skills would make him a good third down back - he's a good receiver and the team's best pass blocker out of the backfield - and he's used that way at times but that's not his primary role. They try to use him off the bench in the same way they use Chris Wells. He come in and spell Beanie and play an entire series. Many Buckeye fans feel that he has not fulfilled his potential yet because they don't utilize him in a way that plays to his strengths. M. Wells could probably be more successful if they found more ways to get him out in space - perhaps with screens, draws or on toss plays. The latter is something I'd like to see the team at to it's repertoire during the bowl practices.

The #3 RB is Brandon Saine. He broke some of Ted Ginn, Jr.'s state records in track, so he's got some wheels. We haven't seen too much of him since he had is knee scoped mid-way through the season, but that could have more to do with the fact that by that time the Buckeyes were in the thick of the Big Ten schedule, and he's only a true freshman. I hope that they find some ways to get him involved during the layoff, because his speed makes him a threat any time he touches the ball.

4.) I think Chris Wells can catch, but he's not really asked to.

5.) Chris Wells is definitely a between-the-tackles kind of guy. He's 240 lbs., and he's not one of those big backs who thinks he's Barry Sanders. He wants to hit people. His size and his running style though can open up cutback opportunities as the game wears on. The Buckeyes employ a zone blocking scheme, and he's the kind of back that can command defenses to flow in his direction. If they over pursue or sell out to stop him, he can cut back the other way and make you pay. His TD runs in the second half of the Wisconsin game are the best example of this.

Thank you.. just thank you. In my state.. the osu fans are convinced he's faster than Holliday and has the heart of Hester (which is impossible, mind you.)

From what i've found on the internet.. he runs a low 11/sec 100m dash? I can't seem to find his 40? Any help?

I doubt any OSU fans think that their RB is faster than Holliday. The guy is one of the fastest human beings on the planet (he's a track superstar). But Holliday is tiny, he isn't going to break too many tackles. That's why nobody heavily recruited him, and that's why LSU rarely uses him as part of our running game.

Is it true the higher ranked team get's first pick on what color jersey they wear for the game?
If so we could be in purple for the game. Don't really matter which jersey we wear but something I was thinking about.

Chris is not a speed back. He is a power back that just happens to have speed. Not Holliday speed mind you. Whom ever said that is crazy.

However, I would love to see Teddy Ginn and Holliday race.
