    Everybody knows how the Supreme Court works. They decide which of the thousands of cases filed that they are willing to hear. Then they listen to the lawyers from both sides and then vote. The problem is that not all of them always vote even in accord with a strict interpretation of the Constitution as it is written, but rather base their decisions upon their own political leanings.

    It means "jiggery-pokey and pure applesauce", perhaps. This is an lame argument even for you. A justice is free to speak his mind and he can say whatever "esoterica" he wishes, witness Scalia.

    What basic right has been eroded here? Didn't you say that marriage is not a right at all?

    What does it matter? Sometimes the court rules the way you like and some times it doesn't.

    It's sad to you that gay people get equal protection under the law. Yet you don't condone discrimination. Pick one because they are mutually exclusive.

    The law doesn't tell you to do anything at all. It doesn't care if you dislike gay marriage, it is your right to be a chauvinist. What the law says that gays are due equal protection under the law. Whether you dislike the law or not.

    What is wrong with that? It does not force churches to change anything they do.

    Nope. It has never been about changing churches. It's about legal rights. You don't have to accept it, you don't have to like it. You just can't deny a citizen the rights that other citizens enjoy.

    When does anyone ever shut up? And who cares, really. The law just says that discrimination of this kind cannot be condoned legally.

    Yes it is a fact. I never said sit down shut up and like it. I said I can't understand how they cant accept it being it has ZERO effect on them. And it doesn't. No one is forcing them to marry gay people or have gay weddings. Equal protection under the law. Why is this so hard for you to grasp?

    You are making that up. I never said I disagree with the decision, I just stated that it was made from personal opinion rather than based on the what is provided by the constitution. Seems you are the one that doesn't understand.
