    Bet there won't be

Hell I heard on the radio today that one of the judges or some local appointed rep. Stepped down because her religious beliefs didn't allow for ssw. She said she did not want to be faced with the trouble so she quit her job.

I'd be surprised if many cave

I'm sorry but mention of the word "intimacy" is definitely esoteric and so stupidly off-point for a SC justice IMO.

I said what I meant and I meant what I said.

Just wait. The defining is just beginning.

I don't believe in sexual orientation or intimacy as a Constitutional right.

I think the government should stay the hell out of the marriage business and argument. If gay couples want equality in terms of assets, partner recognition in case of illness, health insurance, etc, I'm all for it. That can be done without the federal government foisting the definition on the entire population. Go get a partner license or whatever but that's not what they want. Gay folks want to be acknowledged as married. And there are implications that go along with that.

It's being built. The last thing this country needs is more civil lawsuits surrounding divorce, child custody, adoption right, artificial insemination rights. Hell, go to law school kids. That's where the money will be.

This is just lame my friend. I get you don't like organized religion, the bible, whatever. That doesn't make people who do "insane" or even hateful, or unkind, unaccepting. Why do they not have a right to THEIR opinion?

Sure they do, it just doesn't make sense to me especially since slews of Christians including devout ones understand that the bible shouldn't be taken literally, and support marriage equality. They don't want to evolve, their perogative, they can kick it with the rest of the pouters on the sideline and continue to preach their hate and be miserable.

    Bill of Rights.

Article the third... Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion

The law affects the legal status of marriage. They have to be given a marriage certificate so that they have the legal rights of spouses. Churches can decides what ceremonies they wish to perform or not within their churches.

In your opinion, sure. But rulings can say whatever they wish to get the point across.

Do you believe in discrimination? Don't get so squeamish over the word "intimacy". The issue here is discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Does that also include abortion rights?

    The ruling does just that.

What implications and why would they matter in the eyes of the law? Nobody is telling you that you have to change anything you do. How does it hurt you?

It would seem that this ruling would reduce such lawsuits. It seems like a weak argument anyway. Civil liberties cannot be denied because somebody wishes there were fewer lawyers and law suits.
