Minnesota is considered moderate or sometimes liberal.

All of the candidates should have to be on a reality show with American voters voting one of them off the show every week. Last one on the show is the POTUS. I'll post a link soon where you can contribute to my campaign. I'm researching strip clubs now to find a suitable campaign headquarters.

Mostly fishing. But it does contain Duluth, a port city with connections to much of Canada. Local politics have long been dominated by the Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party which is now merged with the democratic party. That was done by Minnesota's favorite son Hubert Humphrey, an LSU graduate.

Actually I ran the administration huge health plan in Minnesota, for about four years. BHCAG, large employer provided health, cutting edge. We, and the employers used to call it, the "Socialist State of Minnesota." I don't think there are a lot of moderates up there. I am well aware how Liberal the state is, believe it or not.

Still that large blue blob, way up north kinda stands out, at least to me. Actually it jumps off the page.

I suppose I was trying to be MODERATELY funny. Sorry.

Speaking of moderates, Red, what do you think about Bernie Sanders?

Yeah, it's pretty much Baja Canada.

    Lake Wobegon, perhaps?

Not all independents are moderates. It is annoying that every time an independent party emerges, it is always to the left of the democrats (Greens, Socialists) or to the right of the republicans (Ross Perot, Tea Party) never in the middle.

I really never paid much attention to Sanders before he decided to run for president. But from what I have read and heard recently, he seems another flavor of liberal rather than a moderate. I know of no conservative positions he has taken. He does seem to be pragmatic but his stand seems to be to the left of Hillary's progressives and to the right of the old Teddy Kennedy liberals, whatever they call themselves these days. He seems more like a European-style Social Democrat. They probably love him in Sweden.

Instead of a moderate third party emerging the old parties seem to be reproducing. The right has the traditional Republicans, the Tea Party, the social conservatives, the Libertarians and the goose-stepping fascists, while the left has the progressive Democrats, the liberal Democrats, the environmentalists, and the pinko commie fags.

I actually do like the idea that not everybody on the left and right is goose-stepping or sauntering in lock step with a single ideology.

At least he calls for universal health care, not universal insurance!

Ted Cruz on the day the Supreme Court went rainbow.

"some of the darkest 24 hours our nation has ever seen"

Never mind Pearl Harbor, or 911, but allowing people to marry is the darkest 24 hours.

Mike Huckabee said, "5 black robed lawyers think they know better than legislators, this wasn't what the founding fathers intended"

    Article III Huckabee, idiot.

Man these guys are really good.
