This article on ATVS by Poseur is another perspective on game attendance. I found it somewhat enlightening. Enjoy. http://www.andthevalleyshook.com/2013/9/23/4762200/whatever-happened-to-tiger-stadium
You're not making any sense. I am talking about how with 13 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter and up 21-0, LSU's offense shut it down when the Auburn's defense started to sell out to stop the run. We accommodated them by continuing to run the ball. Never threatening to score again in the first half. Keeping whatever glimmer of hope Auburn had in tact. I don't give a fuck what Auburn did offensively the rest of that quarter.
Glimmer of hope? They couldn't get near enough to score. By this time Hill had 8 rushes, for 140 yds, a 17.5 ypc and 2 TDs. From there with the rain coming down, LSU was content to match TD for TD the rest of the game, an that's what they did. By half auburn had 104 yds total offense, LSU 223. Too easy. Auburn was never in the game at that time, an like I said, we matched them. Game over. Years ago it was a pain trying to score, now, with teams like auburn, its a dial-up at will. All games will not be like this where we can put our foot on the gas, but this is one that we could. You should try and enjoy these games.
I had to explain this to a friend of mine that is a Razorback fan. He was like I heard you guys had some problems. I was like ... really? 21-0 and this isn't A&M vs Bama. The game was never anywhere near as close as even the final score said it was.
I can understand having to explain this to a razorback fan... This is from someone, outside looking in...... I was talking with an OC from another college last night, he agrees with much of this. He saw LSU in full control of the game. Another friend said that Cam was the biggest hire in college football in the off season. I was sitting with a good friend at the game Saturday night, hes a Dr in BTR, in auburns first possession, when the kid went down he told me, "Looks like a Patellar Tendon injury, to me."
well the friend didn't watch it, and while he's not the best football judge, I think he would have seen the same thing. His hatred for LSU is more just to give me a hard time than it is an actual injury.
I stated in another post. We took the lead and throttled back. No reason to risk an injury when the outcome of the game was obvious. Could you imagine if we had kept the offensive tempo up and Hill, Beckham or Landry had a serious injury? Or Freak, Ego or Barrow even. I would have loved to see us put up 50+ PTs but I would've hated to see a starter or 2 go down. Saturday we will throttle it up, maybe even spray a little nitrous. Joja is going down!
We are all just so freaking spoiled! I remember when any win over the Aubies was great. Now if we don't kill em we had a bad game. Geez, I think I surely enjoy the season much more then most of you guys. We are 4 - 0 but if I didn't know better I would think were 0 - 4.
I enjoy it a ton, but I'm an OptiTiger, not a negatiger. Let's throw a 4-0 party while everyone else acts like they are 0-4
That's a pretty bad Auburn team. That QB had a deer in the headlights look all game long. LSU did what they had to do to get the win. I think we can all agree with that.
