I was thinking exactly this when watching this game and all these young hungry players on this LSU team. Loads of talent. The all important QB position seems to be as solid as we have ever seen at LSU. They may surprise us and grow up real quick this year, but I think we're a year away from really contesting for the West division.
#7, was only one play away from being a bust. Not sure he has the maturity for big time college football. Yeah, it is early, very early. Having stated that, if you are number one, you should act like it, and more important play like it, too. That stupid pose will haunt him, the team, and us, for a long time. We will see.
#1 ranked players usually have alpha male egos, same goes for the special forces type, there's nothing wrong with that. Exactly how long did Peterson's pose haunt us? Thinking you might've gotten too small of depends this time around.
I think saying this pose with haunt LF, the team, and us for a long time is a tad over-dramatic. Yes, it was an immature, premature sort of move. But I'm not ready to crucify the child. The truth is, outside of LSU, other people have already forgotten it happened.
hell 1 or 2 big games against quality opponents and we'll see it flipped, people will be like he is a Heisman blah blah blah
I agree. I think people just worry that this portends another head case. Well, the other children are. The LSU Reveille was pretty harsh. It may not be a fun week for Fournette in classes this week. "But hey, anytime you can take the spotlight off a great team performance and focus it squarely on yourself, you do it. Especially if everyone on the planet has declared you the greatest thing since sliced bread and if you’re only using your college career to further your personal brand. Maybe all of the fans in the stadium should head online and pick up “Buga Nation” jerseys rather than the traditional purple and gold. While in the lead up to his career at LSU, Fournette said and did everything right. He earned the respect of a notoriously fickle fanbase and gained a reputation as a stand-up act. But sometimes actions speak louder than words. So until Fournette plays for the name on the front of the jersey rather than the one on the back, he’ll continue to lose the respect of the LSU fan base. 'BUGA' is the team Fournette plays currently plays for, not LSU, and Tiger fans should grow accustomed to that notion."
Damn, The Reveille did take him to task. And I'll be the first to admit, I'm not into today's slang and am acronym challenged. Wha'ts BUGA?
