A lesson to be learned... This year, we are better off trusting the offense to win the game than the defense. Consequently, late in the fourth quarter, if we have a slight lead --- Do an all out blitz and pray that they never get the pass off. We either stop them or let them score quickly leaving as much time as possible for our offense to score last and win the game.
All I ever hear is how disciplined and well coached his teams are. This is a Bama thing, he wasn't disciplined when he was at the Dolphins or here.
I agree. Nick realized he wasnt a NFL coach. He also learned a lot through that experience. He was a good coach, now is an exceptional coach. I respect him as a coach but not as a man. He and Meyer walked out on their teams. Neither could handle the losing so they quit. If the Dolphins had more talent Saban would have stayed. Had all those prized recruits panned out no doubt Meyers health and family issues wouldnt have cause his early leave. Ultimately what was done before doesnt matter. Its difficult not to compare Miles to Saban or LSU to Bama. We in the same division, in the same conference. LSU is right there with Bama, outside of some coaching decisions. Im not saying our coaches arent very good. Im just saying that they arent doing a very good job THIS year. I get we are a young team and that will bring us growing pains. We arent improving though, thats the scary part. The season will only get tougher. I thought we would beat UGA but I could accept that loss. Its how it happened that makes it not as easy to swallow. I also cant get over the constant clock management/TO issues under Miles. I think we have a good overall staff that can correct the issues. LSU recruits exceptionally well but the key is coaching up the talent. LSU has done a great job of that. I know we dont have the talent on D we normally do. Still, we have to do a better job of putting the right players in as well as coaching them up. The schemes have to improve, especially at the end of games/halves.
