That would totally suck. No way they should be ranked higher than LSU or USC after the spanking they took from Kansas State.
I think a lot of folks from the media have to eat crow now. So many were so biased in saying either that Georgia will beat LSU or already made up their minds that USC & OU are locked for NC. I mean this stupid writer from USA Today said that Georgia is gonna put all this BCS stuff to rest by thrashing LSU. His article was on the front page all evening till the LSU game got on and now it's expectedly dissappeared. What a Loser!! LSU should be the Unanimous # 1 I feel. So proud to be an LSU Alumni....planning to throw a big party on Jan 4th....... GEAUX TIGERS!!!!
Ok...as much as things went bad with our opponents and opponent's opponets losing what seemed to be every game, and USC's won, they went good this week....Neuter Dame lost, Hawaii lost...and the shocker...OU lost? WTF??? (so much for being the "greatest team ever" lol)...and LSU won the SECCG!!! I can't sleep, either. I got the damned flu, and this is STILL one of the greatest days of my life! I predicted to a freind of mine during the first bye week of this year before the Florida game that LSU would play for a national championship within the next 3 years....then they go lose that game the next week and make me look like an idiot, but alas, Who has the last laugh now? Thank you, TIGERS for having my back!!! I said it before the Ole Miss game....you just got to believe, baby!!! It's been a long time coming and I wish I could actually GO to the game, but I'm thinking I have to work that night! Guess I better put in for some vacation for Jan 4th!!! ...and probably Jan 5th, too, because I will be too hungover from partying when we win the damned thing!!! I have seen the lows (end of Jerry Stoval, end of Mike Archer, Curley Hallman, end of Gerry DiNardo) and I have seen the highs (Charlie Mac, Bill Arnsparger, part of Stoval, part of Archer, part of DiNardo), but this has got to be the highest high of them all! 2003 SEC CHAMPS with a legitimate shot at winning the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP??? It's almost Christmas time, but OUR St. Nick brings us presents at the BEGINNING of December and hopefully the beginning of Janurary, too!
I agree with you on the human polls. If the AP and Coaches had any guts, they would put LSU 1st in both of these polls. USAToday is a lame paper. It does not surprise me that this guy did this. LSU's trouncing of Georgia cannot be ignored. Up until now, LSU has been a thorn in everyone's side, with everyone hoping that we would just go away. Well I am afraid to tell you, we are here to stay and we will beat OU on January 4, 2004. 2004 National Champions, the LSU Fightin Tigers.
Yes this is correct. Also, if the NYTimes has 1) USC, 2) OU, and 3) LSU....we would be out as well.... Those are the only 2 scenarios left. The NYTimes is more than a long shot....There is little or no way that OU nestles itself in between USC and LSU (the margin between LSU and USC will be minute, within .005 points). And the pollsters would have to decide that they want USC/OU matchup so bad that they shed their dignity and rig the human polls to place OU 2nd behiind USC.
3 computer polls are out. Check out the thread labeled "FINAL COMPUTER POLL RESULTS"......it's onto the Sugar Bowl baby
I emailed Palm about this yesteday and he said BCS takes into account all games played thru Dec. 6 and, yes, that W. Ill game DOES count in the polls that factor inter-Divisional games (like NYT)...not that it'll matter much now.
I think you may be wrong. Dallas paper stated that two computer polls count division 1-AA wins and the Colgate win could make a difference.
Fuck these 1-AA games. Take em and stick em up the Dallas paper's ass. End of fucking story. 3 computer polls are already out, and they don't seem to give a fuck about these games. LSU #1 in 1 poll, #2 in the other 2.
