1. Nice one Dad. So what are we doing? Why are we standing for this? Because we are part of the machine.
  2. Every time "the powers" mouth their archaic propaganda,.. they become more and more laughable.

"Make the most you can of the hemp seed and sow it everywhere" ..............................................................................George Washington

  3. It's amazing to me that this is still an issue in this day and time. We put people on the moon but don't have enough sense to legalize weed.

  4. i dunno that i am part of the machine. i smoke weed whenever i want (which happens ot be never, but that is beside the point) without any fear of consequences. so do all of my friends. lawmakers might be part of the machine, and obama might be, but you are not, and i am not.
  5. I still believe its a matter of time, it feels like momentum is building to me. Alas, the Repugs would celebrate if the Democratic platform called for legalization.

I too have lost faith in the Democrats ability/desire to make meaningful change. More and more the two parties seem like two ends of the same $tick.

I have faith in the USA though, we're just awaiting the next great American moment.

Specifically, a strong leader needs to step forward and start an alternative party,.. something along the lines of an "America first,.. enough of the political crap" movement. IMO sane people would eagerly jump on board.

I think it's just a matter of time.
  6. Definitely expensive but I tend to err on the side of caution with my kids. I'll drink the cheap stuff 6 days expired. Don't really care. But they get special treatment.
  7. We drink Poinsetta brand. About 30% cheaper and it meets the same standards as the others. My kids have been drinking it for all their lives.

Of course there is that growth on each of their backs.........
  8. I've always felt the biggest reason that weed hasn't been legalized yet is because there is no way to instantaneously ascertain someone's level of inebriation. Drunk people blow into a breathalyzer, but there's not an analogous test for stoned people. As it stands now, they can't even really tell how recently you've smoked.

I am not endorsing this as a reason that it should be illegal; I just think that's why it hasn't been made legal.
  9. I think workplace safety will be a big factor until, as you noted, a test is developed that shows how long since last consumption.

In Oregon, industrial accidents cost the company money, 6 digits big money, if it's determined the company could have prevented it. At the end of each quarter the injury % rate is evaluated, with huge fines for a too high %.

One year the plywood company where I worked, paid over $2 million in fines. Out of financial necessity, safety became their top priority, amongst other changes, they began to drug test for every production mistake, mishap, or scratch. Show up late, they might test you on suspicion alone. I didn't smoke for 5 years, too stressful.

Hard issue to resolve. Sound company logic on one hand, on the other, People who smoked the night before are not an added safety risk imo.

Don't know if there will be a solution,.. happily for me, I don't work anymore.
