Her brain was dead. It is obvious she would have died long before without artificial support, including the feeding tube. Like I said earlier she was not killed, she was allowed to die.
Feeding someone is not artificial life support. Her heart pumped on its own, she breathed on her own. If you don't feed an infant for two weeks it will die. Is that allowing it to die are killing it?
Inserting a plastic tube in one's belly is just as artificial as some machine keeping them alive. We aren't born with those plastic tubes. Do you want the government to legislate how we die?
I manage a federally subsidized low income housing complex. The size of the apartment a person qualifies for is based on the number of people in the household. A single person only qualifies for a one bedroom unit, etc. You may be suprized to learn that according to federal HUD regulations, all a single women has to say is that she is expecting a child within the next 9 months and she automatically qualifies for a two bedroom unit.
Well, maybe the government should be able to decide in certain cases where mothers have mulitiple children and can't take care of them. There are people out there that can't make that decision. There are also individuals that are reckless and irrational. Some of them take from the government and welfare systems for years. I am against abortion and you are for it, what I'm saying here is that your view is somewhat wrong, I think. There are exceptions to every rule out there so you are incorrect. Do you read what KCal wrote, you might be surprised! :yelwink2:
Decide what?? I want the right to make the decision. I've already said that I would not personally make that decision to abort or encourage anyone in family to do so. I am opposed to government making decisions for me. If that makes me wrong, so be it. Not surprised at all. She gets a 2 bedroom apt b/c she is going to have a child ... it's called planning. Now if you told me that she gets more money for food stamps before the baby is born, then I'd be surprised.
If people who have all these children and live off of society should be sterilized or have the children adopted by others. If the government finances these people for years the government should be able to make decisions as to how to address the problem. I am talking about people who are reckless baby machines and can't make rational decisions. I do believe individuals should be able to make thier decisions like you but I also believe and know that not everyone is capable of making the right decisions. Since I am against abortion I look at a different way of addressing some of these complex problems. If people don't want the government running or ruining thier lives they should be responsible enough not to have 5 to 10 kids and sponge off of all of us and the government. :hihi:  I'm laughing at myself here, just for the record!
i agree in full with this statement by martin, i am an on again off again christian (who has a major problem with the institution of church, more so then christianity itself). That being said, with the church, more so the christian coalition, becoming such a powerful entity in Washington, i also believe that something should be done to distance the gap. The only problem with this idea is who wants to initiate such a change and commit political suicide in doing so. No one, b/c the right wing christians would tar and feather anyone from the republican party for even thinking that the evil ACLU was right. Religion like the Confederacy, had its place in the history of the U.S., but since they are taking down all the Confederate flags and making more P.C. changes, so should this wave change the religious aspect of the U.S..
