You couldn't be more misinformed. Clinton tried to kill him twice before 9/11, Bush did nothing until afterwards and hasn't caught him yet. bin laden is a fart and has nothing to do with the state of the US, except for providing the neo-cons with an excuse to borrow $ from china to pay KBR. the housing and credit crisis is a blip. the overall economy is ok as far as GDP goes. the problem is the balance sheet. and that is the problem of the US politicians and constituency since about Nixon. having 20% of the budget going to military is unforgivable in a time of peace (since WWII). 10% going to interest is unforgivable. 20% to social security is stupid. and 20% to healthcare is poor control of medical costs at best. all of this was under the watch of my parents generation. they are getting lumps of coal from me for xmas.

Agree 100%. I have always and will continue to respect the office of the President of the United States. A lot of Bush haters cannot truthfully say that.
