Romney wins despite lying and using republican blog sites as a reference. Gotta love American politics. The best liar is the guy for us! Sickening.

I don't care who wins these debates because America loses every time.

gotta give this one to Romney on style. that said, he will have to defend his new positions over the next two weeks and I imagine that debate #2 will look markedly different than last night. Obama was off his game big time and missed several opportunities, IMO, to hit Romney hard.

Enjoy this while you can my friend because Mitt will have to answer for all of his inconsistencies. Mitt clarified nothing. In fact, he has created more problems for himself by, once again, changing his positions. Obama was off his game last night and Romney was on his, no doubt about it. That said, there are two more debates to go and 30 days of campaigning between now and election day, not to mention a vice-presidential debate in just a few days.

So go ahead and grab your cajones and take a victory lap because your guy was better last night, at least on style points. This is not an uncommon occurence: Reagan lost his first debate with Mondale in 1984, GWBush lost his first debate with Kerry in 2004. Come election day this will be a small blip on the radar.

I have to admit that I underestimated Mitt Romney's political savvy. Physically turning towards Obama tonight and speaking to him directly was a brilliant move and took Barak off of his game. No mention of the 47%, women's reproductive rights, etc. from Barak who just sat silent instead of calling Mitt out on his BS. Then Mitt just repeats lie after lie, knowing full well that the Factcheckers will expose him the next day.

In the end, why would Mitt care if his lies are exposed the day after? Few voters will take the time to discover his fallacies. The debate is about the immediate impression and Romney came off looking better than Obama.

Some exaggerations and lies from both sides of the stage last night...

Factcheck is off base on one thing. They repeatedly stated in their article that Romney never explained how he could cut tax rates, reduce taxes on the middle class and due it in a revenue neutral way. That isn't true. He explained it several times. He said that through increased employment and economic growth tax revenues would not decline and spending cuts would also further close the gap.

I don't know anything about the methodology the Romney camp used in making these projections, so I can't comment on that. It seems reasonable to me in principle.
