Since people want to make arguments from the extreme, what is better of the two. the best talent and worst coaching. the best coaching and worst talent. what would win more games? I think coach Oeaux answers this but I’d like everyone’s opinion.
Coach O and Les on the bad coaching with talent and Bill Snyder with good coaching and no talent. Perspective I guess. I don't like Sanders, not even a little bit. He is living on his name and I hope he fails. He will.
It’s not like he made a name for himself doing bad things. He made his name being a tremendous athlete.
Leave it to the media to divide us. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/columnist/mike-freeman/2023/09/25/deion-sanders-colorado-football-black-americas-team/70925077007/#:~:text='Deion was always beloved by,still Black America's football team&text=As Deion Sanders continues to,happening all across the country.
can we wait until he accomplishes anything of note before anointing him? I'm not saying he won't or can't get there. I'm staying what until he is before crowning him. seriously at the end of a double overtime game against a 3 TD underdog, the announcers quite emphatically question "DO YOU BELIEVE NOW?!!?" as if they'd just beaten Georgia or something. how is that counting against him? at Jackson State, getting Travis Hunter there was great. Because one kid of that level is enough to make a huge difference. saying that is giving him credit for doing it. at a Power 5 school, you need a lot more that just him. saying that means you got to do better than he did at Jackson State. will he? hell if I know but he damn sure isn't there yet (and we saw that Saturday).
Crown him with what? Who has crowned him with anything? True or false, Colorado is multiples better now than before Prime? Maybe there is some context around this people are running with. No one, and I mean no one has predicated Colorado to win much of anything. I'd also like to point out that this is an entertainment field. You know, we watch to enjoy. The TV announcers have their part as well. Its a logical fallacy. You cant say he wont because he had the most talent but then blame coaching for losing when Oregon far out talented Colorado or having a close game vs an inferior opponent. But he did beat TCU who is not only better coached had more talent; add Nebraska to that as well. I think our coach getting his dick beat in the dirt vs an = talented team (FSU) says more about our current coach than Primes 1st year at the dumpster that was Colorado getting smashed by Oregon.
sure they're better. want to list other teams with new coaches that are better this year than last year? of those, how many have had Gameday on their campus proclaiming "the entire college football universe is tuned into this game with a 22 point spread"? how many of those have commercials airing THIS week for the "Big Noon Kickoff" advertising it as "the biggest game" of the week? the fuck are you talking about? I'm not going to say he can't or that he won't because I have no clue what he'll do in Colorado. what I did say was at the FCS level having just 1 or 2 five-stars immediately makes your roster better than 90% of the teams you face. Which simply is not true at the Power 5 level.
