i coincidentally was in process of typing that i live in West Texas when the pregame show announced the score. i’m not going to say i am without bias, but i do consider myself more objective than the average person. because once again, i’ve never once bashed Deion as a coach or as a persona. i’ve said from the beginning my issue is with the media coverage treating Colorado winning 4 games like it’s this amazing accomplishment. When in reality it’s pretty much status quo. other than last season Colorado is always a 4 or 5 win team. so winning 4 or 5 games at Colorado doesn’t impress me. That’s who they are. no matter who is coach.
That is what I am trying to teach you. Here, let me give you an example. Did we fire Miles for his past average (which was amazing btw) or his current trajectory? What about Orgeron? Did we fire him for 2019 or 2021? On the graphic you didnt respond to, how do you think the media will view the trajectory of Colorado? Also keeping in mind all the other things of being a head coach, like recruiting, media, etc? Everything about the state of the program at Colorado is better. Its not really up for debate. Now on to Prime himself, I am fairly confident in saying that he will be a high-level recruiter and it is my view that recruiting outweighs actual coaching ability 2:1. There are some unicorns like Saban, Kirby, etc, but in general, if you had to pick one thing to be good at, recruiting would be it. With that said, it just a matter of time. Unless he quits. Many things could play out but I think I am right in that the program is doing better today. I think the is doing a very good job. Also, its kind of silly to be upset with the media. If Tom Brady decided to go this path, he would get more coverage than Prime with less history in being a head coach, none. It is literally their job to do this.
