That's tough. Most of them will be uneconomical to reprint today. The Caterie was always a cobbled together collection of storefront properties, so a rebuild there will likely be an improvement. It will be interesting to see if they keep the deli or just make it into a night club. But my liquor store and my drug store are out of business for up to 3 months!
sounds like a crisis. you could go to the cvs on gubment st. as for a liquor store......i liked that place too. always had zing zang bloody mary mix there much cheaper than groceries or wal mart.
Yeah, I was much more concerned about Southdowns Liquor than The Caterie. But I can always go to the place on Perkins (can't remember the name, used to be Paul Cat's and Cuban') or the Albertsons on College (actually has a better beer selection than Southdowns). I never really cared a whole heck of a lot for The Caterie. I went there my fair share of times, but I was never crazy about it. I'm not saying that I was glad to see it go, but I didn't lose any sleep over it.
If you have regular prescriptions now would be a good time to switch them to Sam's Club. One of my meds was costing my $35 for a 1 month supply at Walgreens nd now I get a 90 day supply of the exact same thing at Sam's for $20
the caterie is ok in my book, but nothing that cant be replaced by something better. i think red would agree that the pastime is a better place to drink. in general the problem at all baton rouge bars is that you have to drive to them or have a designated driver. that is a life-ruiner. the only way to have fun without hiring a damn driver in baton rouge is to live on/near campus and drink within walkin distance of your house. and once you get too old for that, it is time to move.
It ain't a better place for girl-watching . . . Life-ruiner?. There are tradeoffs. Not having a vehicle and living in a megalopolis is a handicap for many other things. I live within walking distance of Georges, Ivars, the Caterie, Chelseas and Duvics. :hihi:
i like it. nice. we used to be neighbors. i lived for years on tulip st with my girlfriend, who you probably see regularly at duvics. she is the quiet skinny blonde.
