It is easy to be down on the QB'"s, but they are babies. Doesn't make losing easy, but they will get there, as painful as it maybe. Hell, look at #7, big transformation in five games. We can raise hell all we like, and when we are not winning it is OK, but all of us better be ready for that sit down crow dinner, cause it is coming!
I don't know, of that is the case then there sure are a lot of shitty coaches in the SEC & around the country. Even some of the guys who had early success have looked pretty bad the last two weeks. And some are upper classmen.
Good point, is Saban shitty? In their last 8 games LSU is 6-2 Bama is 5-3. Both have lost Auburn, Bama to Ole Miss and OU, LSU to MSST. I'm sorry dudes but MSST and Ole Miss look like the 2 best teams in the country to me.
The SEC West is upside down this year. How about the fact that the SEC West is undefeated right now against the rest of college football, including the SEC East. The SEC West is brutal.
The only good thing I've ever heard Muffburger say "the SEC West is the 9th toughest division in the NFL"
Miles had plenty of time to set this season up so we'd look better at QB than we have. We won (just as easily could have lost) by ground and pound last night, which is better than losing, but our passing game (and FL) is bad. Add to it that our QBs have been poor more often than not under Miles, and lately our D is falling off. This was a classic Miles win, ripe with things to criticize that the pumpers don't want to hear. But is was a win, that was coached steadily, with fairly good clock management. That said, it looks like our O will be better next year, I'm actually more concerned with our D.
I don't agree with that first line. What I will say though is that 2008 has haunted him because of the way the fanbase turned on him when Lee was throwing picks. Since then he just does not like to throw early or in the red zone. I think he is either A. Protecting the young qb, or B. trying to protect him team from not turning the ball over. I don't agree with that philosophy, a loss is a loss whether you throw 5 picks or run the ball 70 percent of the time with 10 in the box and throw it 12 times in obvious passing situations. How many times was Jennings allowed to throw on 1st last night?
Is it Perilloux's fault (recruited by Miles)? Is it because our JUCO transfer unexpectedly left for the NFL? I know we've lost quite a few QBs to transfer, but I'm reluctant to put the blame on those Miles recruits. Hell, the way Miles is playing it right now (conservative) is probably the best statistical chance at winning; its how he's won most of his 100 games. And we've seen that our QBs aren't ready to be unleashed. We're playing small ball because we aren't there at QB yet. Considering reality, I'd call it smart and playing your hand well. I don't like it - with better QB play I think we have more titles. Unfortunately, our D has been skunking up the field and probably cost us a very special year last year. We have a second chink in the armor.
I just wish we would stop recruiting dual threat QB's. They are rarely a "dual" threat. They may have big arms, but are inaccurate and have to have complex offenses dumbed down, and have trouble reading defenses.
