I wonder if a DC might be offended to get passed over for a newly hired position coach. Can't make you feel too good, I imagine. Don't think Aranda has ever said anything negative about LSU.
His comments about leaving made you think he was torn. He wants to be a HC and working for Ed had to be what pushed him to Waco. I think he would want to come back as HC especially with the facilities, $$$$, and the love Baton Rouge showed him. Sounded like he and his family really liked it here.
This might be if interest. https://www.google.com/amp/s/fansid...ge-boards-lincoln-riley-leaving-oklahoma/amp/ I've personally seen 7 different "Offer's on the table" reports just as awesome as UrbanBaw's can't fail, highest credible "Sauce" evar, done deal, etc. They still think sauces is funny. One posted a few days ago, claimed Offer on the table before O was fired. I believe that was the 8th one, now that I think of it. The recipient of the latest done deal? William Muschamp.
Nobody, they all have jobs. The key is trying to buy your way into the Top 10 coaching profession, if that's the direction we're going to go. Like Nick Saban in late 1999.
Diamond in the rough, you guys act like Nick Saban's grow on fucking trees. You guys are a bunch of tight asses, the absolute worst customers in the world. Want Corvettes at the price of a damn cobalt. You are going to have to take a chance to find "that guy" Is it Napier? Fickell? Campbell? Aranda? Who in the hell knows! The one thing for certain is you won't know until you hire them or someone else does. Sweeny aint coming, Riley probably isn't either, nor Cristobal or the guy at Stanford or Brian Kelly or anyone else currently working a P5 job worth its salt. We are already there. Anyone that covers sports will tell you that LSU is clearly at top 10 job, most of them would say top 5. So it shouldn't be that difficult to find someone to take the keys. What the fanbase needs to realize is it isn't going to be Belicheck!

I think you are misunderstood my point. It has little to do with the actual $ amount. More to do with program direction. My point was more along the lines of if we end up with Billy Napier instead of one of the better Top 10 coaches, I seriously doubt we're looking at spending close to the actual amounts being thrown around here. Woodward would have decided to go in a different direction, meaning less money.
