Well Aranda isn't my first choice and I suspect now that LSU has become yet another Woke U Aranda being squeaky clean (so far) has appeal to the admin. On the plus side what appeals to me about Aranda is he has turned Baylor around quickly. I watched them play and it appears he leaves offense up the his OC because that offense doesn't look like it's being run by a defensive mind. It appears he concentrates his talents on defense and being HC. He also has a good name in the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas. Going to be a tricky pick glad I am not Woodward, or maybe I am Woodward mmmmmmmm.
As far as money we could double Saban's salary if he would agree to come. LSU boosters and Athletics are not short of money, its just PR for the "State can't afford it" crowd who get in an uproar about that kind of stuff. The athletic department is not the state funded part of the school it is an entity all by itself. A business designed to make money, period. If it were do you think these coaches would be making what they are. Some CEO (coaches) bring in more than the share they are paid by winning championships and putting asses in the stands. It is a balance that Admin has to play to keep everything running smooth. The only reason coaches will not come here is for reasons other than money. If A&M can pay Dumbo what he is paid and LSU can pay Baw what they are, money will not be a problem. In fact it probably took WW about 10 minutes to find buyout money. Just hope he gets the guy he wants, because we have settled on the last two.
It's been a long time since Saban asked for his job back at LSU. A lot has changed since then and LSU is probably not as attractive to him as it was then. The BR traffic alone might be enough to make him not consider it.
Saban idea is nonsense. I will revisit a belief of mine that got me banned from another fan site —- yeah those A wipes —- Saban left LSU as much as he chased Nfl Miami money . Word is he agonized over coming to LSU unable to understand why they couldn’t consistently win here . After the natty , yes he felt the nfl itch we all knew that would be scratched but he also didn’t think he could keep feeding the monster successfully here. Anyhoo Saban is now only a good topic for Moot Court nothing more.
