    Exactly.

Not saying my opinion is worth anything in the search, but I was correct about WaterHead and Coach Yaw Yaw. Both uninspired hires, wouldn't have won a championship if not at LSU and capable of leaving a dumspter fire behind them.

To be fair, both started out strong but seemed to put everything on cruise control after the first ship and let their ego take the wheel.

I want a guy that is looking to etch his name in history with LSU. Only one I see that potential in is Napier. Rest are either NFL retreads, NFL wannabees, yankee carpetbaggers, title IX exhibitionist, or soon-to-be retirees.

Last search his name came up then too I spoke with a guy familiar with franklin said hed never come here bc hes a nonfit. So im thinking USC. Franklin does a bunch of stupid stuff in game pretty regularly so im ok with him not wanting the gig. Vball should keep us posted on their end bc id bet he ends up there.

I would take napier without hesitation. seems like a coach and a program runner all in one. hes got his louisiana recruiting ties in place. One huge step the others cant match. Lock up the fn state for once! with our talent let this program grow with him. seems like the right direction for the program atm.
dont want lane or franklin. jumbo ehh. wheres fickell i hadnt heard his name lately. id take him too.

Fickell has done wonders in Cincinnati, Iowa st guy has turned that program around (which is incredible).

To the Napier supporters, just curious, do you think LSU would give him enough time to rebuild the program to where it needs to be? Do you think the fans and boosters would be happy that after year three he would still be 8-5 or 9-4?

Another thing I would wonder, regardless of who it is, is this hire to get LSU ready for when the Evil Dwarf hangs up the whistle or is this hire expected to make Saban want to retire more quickly?

if the big bucks are being shelled out I would hope It’s the latter and because of it little napoleon ends up doing what Urban Meyer did at Florida.

Napier is not my first choice but I would take him ahead of Franklin and Tucker. For me it's Fickell, Aranda and Napier in that order. I think one of those 3 would be fine with me. Napier and Aranda are young and hungry which is one of the reasons I like both. Fickell is proven but I think a hard get plus he's a big 10 guy who may bolt for Ohio State. Kiffin would be good but he would leave us at the alter when Bama opens up. Riley aint coming here so I don't see many other options except maybe Brady but that doesn't seem likely plus no college head coaching experience.

Campbell has done a great job building Iowa st, which almost seems harder than Cincinnati. Kiffen wouldnt leave LSU for Bama, but he might try the NFL again if he has success. I do worry that success would go to his head. Napier is maybe around 5th choice for me. What about coastal Carolina guy if we’re going that route?

The Coastal Carolina guy has no name recognition in Louisiana or much in the SEC. Napier and Aranda has both and I don't think he would be a good fit. Napier is my third choice but I am liking him more lately. The Iowa State guy has some credentials but could he fit in at LSU? Everyone says Woodward is a big game hunter and Frickell is the biggest game of all but it will cost the hell out of us should we pry him from the Midwest.

Revising and extending my remarks; Here's to hoping we don't hire a minority just because and not because he's the best available

    Fickell - 3.4M
    Campbell - 4.0M
    Napier - 2.0M
    Jamey Chadwell - 850k (CCar)

I’d argue it’s harder to win at Iowa St. Campbell looks like he ain’t a white dude, not sure his heritage.
