I've watched Texas pretty closely the past several years. Herman did not leave him with as much as people think. He's got a big job ahead changing the culture there imo. The kids in Austin to me are coddled like the Dallas Cowboys are coddled. I think it makes them soft. Though we're seeing Dak take over Dallas and maybe move them past that.

    Hey @Brian
A great list you put together at the beginning of this thread, but missed a few guys.
Tier - 5 The Great Grandfathers
They have forgotten more about coaching than many know (including their own names or where they coached at).
    Lee Corso
    Lou Holtz

    Lol @Hou-duco

The ultimate great grandfather coach is who? I gotta go with a guy I've never seen not look 65 years old in Bill Snyder. Who yall got?

For years I have said Snyder was one of the best. Anyone that can win like he did at K State has to have some chops

Something no one has been able to do since Brown and I'm not so sure he was very effective. You think we have big money boosters, they have 3 for our 1, maybe more and they ALL think they know how the team should be run and they ALL demand face time with the coach so they can let him know about it.

Think about this, the freaking flagship in a state as talent rich as Tx and they have a worse QB problem than we do. How is that?

A guy who’s been fired as a DC because of on-field results really concerns me.

That's fair, but the NFL is such an animal. Pete Carroll was fired by the Patriots for on field results. Sean Payton had his playcaller duties taken away by Jim Fassell. When he did they went on a winning streak and made the Super Bowl. His demotion was for on field results. Andy Reid was fired in Philly. The list goes on and on. Is that your main concern? He struggled with the Bears as DC but with the Jags his defenses were all top 5. He even was the interim head guy for Jacksonville when Del Rio was fired. He was even strongly considered to become the head coach permanently. He stayed on and became AHC and remained DC.

The Bears run was a disaster.

But we saw Steve Spagnuolo win a Super Bowl with the Giants and flame out with the Saints only to win another Super Bowl with the Chiefs. You gotta have the horses in the league to race. It happens.

why does it feel like jumbo again. and i wanted him last go round.
bc all things similar the black dude is gonna get gig. players are mostly black and entitled. is what it is. not to say the white ones arent.
how about on our own sidelines. I never thought id see the ole USC coach roaming in Baton Rouge. Always a good feel for me. Coach O was responsible for that. west coast energy working the sidelines of an Lsu game.

I suspect the deep pockets TAF donors are going to have a significant say in who the next LSU HC is. I also suspect they will line up and endorse Woodward's selection.

Don’t be surprised if it’s Lane Kiffin.
