Mel Tucker is now the favorite at +200. I’m hoping that’s just because a bunch of people bit and took the bet at +1200 I don’t see how Vegas insiders would know anything more than LSU insiders. But, that’s why they’re Vegas
I looked up Tucker as I knew nothing about him. From what I see he would be as good as any. He appears to be straight forward and likes his team to be physical in the trenches which is what we need. We get skill players for days but some don’t work out due to our inept line play. I’d give him a shot.
Tucker is impressive and the way he's jumped around you could say he's definitely embrace the Saban early model for chasing success.. **heavy SPECULATION warning** Tate it is rumored is now very involved and wants a diversity hire on his record. It could end up being a power struggle between Tate and Woodward for head coach. The top three names being repeated by guys like Bruce Feldman and Culotta are Jimbo, James Franklin, and Mel Tucker. I'm still hoping we push for Lincoln Riley. After that I really like Fickell, Napier, and Tucker about equally. Though Tucker burned some local bridges down here he'd have to fix when he left Colorado so abruptly.
I am doubting if it will only be Woodward and Tate making the decision. Where do you think the $17 MM for the buyout came from. No way the university or state state could fund it. $17MM probably bought the high rollers in TAF a front row seat at the table when the decision is made.
Woodward hired Sarkisian when he was at U of Washington. His record there wasn’t great but a long time ago and Wash is a tough place to recruit to. Could Woodward make a run at him again?
Fair enough, @lsu-i-like . What's your thoughts with him? He's had good and bad results as DC in the NFL. Very good recruiter. Knows the SEC and knows Louisiana. Up and coming young coach. His schedule last year he likely shouldn't have won a game. 12 transfers in and he's molded them into 7 and 0? He's got them outperforming their level of talent. We've been playing beneath our talent here. @Hou-duco, I would welcome Sark here with open arms. He's be a very, very good hire. Just can't see him leaving Texas though. Think he was Woodward top choice last year if he had to make a move btw.
