A lot of people are dogging O'Brien in here because of his work with the Texans, but it seems like all of the negativity stems from things he did as the GM, not the coach. I don't know. For whatever reason, he doesn't fit the Ivory Soap 97.5% pure rule, so he's out.
That looks like a list of coaches about to get PAID even more and will leverage the "i was contacted by LSU" , payme or I go. lol
How do we know WW has not got someone lined up, this is not the Big nose Joe AD anymore. WW seems to have played everything he has done close to the vest and came out good. We don't know and probably most everyone even closer to the situation doesn't know either. It seems like that's the best way to get your person by being professional. I know after the Joe fiasco we are not used to that sort of thing. He may or may not have the next hire but I am confident he knows what he is doing.
Rumor on TOS is that Woodward has his guy already. And that it will be announced at the end of our season or at the end of the new coaches season if he makes the playoffs.
This is why I don't talk politics ever. Good lord. I'm all about inclusivity and understanding of my fellow person. I'm not citing any media examples. I care that every life matters and that includes those I know who have it worse than I do in certain ways. I'm talking about really good people ensduring shit none of us should have to and acting absolutely appropriately the entire time. Just let all your personal biases go for a moment. We're just talking about treating everyone fairly? I think it's not everywhere you look, but I also know it's happening so it exists. That's all I'm going to say on the matter. I will never understand why people enjoy attacking others and their thoughts at the drop of a kernels worth of information. Not asking for clarity or more information. Just attack attack attack. So disappointing. We really should want to fucking try to make this place better not tear each other down. That's my point. If you want to attack that then you're part of the problem. Jesus.
Given all the public relations and title 9 stuff I would be absolutely stunned if any coach we hired had shady stuff off the field in their past like Briles, Freeze, or even O have. They really want to and need to rehab the image of LSU. That's a big part of why O is gone. He was making it worse not better. Think Brady prefers the NFL. Pay is good and it's all football all the time, you get downtime in the offseason, and you don't have to recruit year round. Hard to beat that.
It’s midway through CFB season. Whether he has someone locked up already or not you won’t know. No current coach is going to let that news out at this point in the season.
I can tell you that living out of state and traveling to as many states as I do, LSU's image is not a good one.
