    This.
LSU fans need to walk back a little from the "swing for the fences" mythology being spoon fed to us by a group of sportswriters engaging in 'group think' and who are presenting the exact same list of candidates for every open coaching job.
There are many competent coaches out there that can lights out coach but who are not on the same dwindling list of 7 people.
For every Mel Turner and Lincoln Riley out there there are the Eric Bienemy's and Brian Dabolls out there that could easily lead us to more than one NC.

@shane0911 ...hope you realize I was just trolling you, bro. We both know the hire is going to be Dick Vermeil...lol.

Gotta agree with this. I spent the first 33 years of my life in BR and left in 1990. My dad played a major role in much of the development from Broadmoor to Shenandoah back the 60's, 70's and 80's. I come back to south Louisiana at least once a year to visit friends, shoot skeet, and eat. Living away from La and coming back to visit it really hits hard how close La is to looking like a 3rd world country. Then you gotta add in the BR traffic, that's a whole notha subject. First thing I thought about when this search began is what top tier coach is want to come here? Of course $12,000,000 and the food will help overcome a lot of that.

Jacksonville is basically a big BR. Better roads. Food not as good.

So looking back at the season and especially the last few games I think with the proper coach LSU should be a serious contender even next year. We have talent and based on those games, guts. They could have laid down but didn’t. They played their best ball after O was fired and with significant injuries to top players on both sides of the ball.
I don’t think I’m looking through rose colored glasses (hope not) but see positive things coming. That is contingent on hiring the right coaches. We can either resume our place at the top or fall into a Tennessee like collapse. It’s all on Woodward.

Frankly I would love it, but in today's "woke" environment it ain't gonna happen. I hope there are prospects from the NFL that are being considered.
