Was it Tennessee a few years back that was turned down about 8 times? Hope that's not the case here.

Mike Scarbrough of Rivals says tonight Scott Woodward is doing a lot of work behind the scenes. Says his personal # 1 is Mario Cristibal & his least favorite or "Shiny Object" coach is Kiffin.

Moscona this morning shot down my Matt Campbell hopes. Says he just signed a new deal with ISU that has a big buyout. Not paying O's buyout and then Campbell's. Also says he thinks Napier is interested in the job, but Woodward "isn't hiring the ULL coach."

I think it has already been done. O has probably already been told which is why he is coasting thru the year getting as much young tang as he can. I'm sure a deal was made for him to keep his mouth shut, play the role and walk out with a buyout of some sort. If he acts up he handles the entire mess of litigation coming his way alone and gets fired for cause which gives him nothing. His only job is to keep the players and recruits focused on staying at LSU next year and he can sniff all the panties he wants.

I think at this point it is the best deal for him. O we appreciate the season you had and bringing a NC with a perfect season (best I've seen) to LSU, but the ride is over and we wish you luck in your future. Thanks O!

I hope you're right. That would be a perfect resolution, I might say a to good to be true resolution. But if Woodward can pull that off and make a good hire at the same time he will definitely earn his pay for the year.

If we can land Fickell or Napier I think we're in the best hands possible. There are questions about each especially at this level but Ohio State and Clemson and Bama are where those guys got their coaching PHD's.. You're going to have questions if it's a proven P5 guy like Riley or Cristobal or an Urban even.. but just different questions. I love both candidates and if that's the options in case Woody goes after the bigger names and misses on them we are in great shape imo.

I’m going to quit worrying about it and trust that Woodward will make the right call after the season. His big hires here (baseball coach Jay Johnson and women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey) as well as his big A&M (Fisher) all post season. If an announcement is not made by Dec. 6, I would suspect that Scott has a deal in place with the HC of a team in the playoffs (note: playoff teams announced Dec. 5).

The wait will be difficult for us diehard fans.

FWIW my coach buddy sent me the highlights of UL's win Wednesday night over Appalachia St which is a very good football team. He told to pay attention the the O Line play in particular. I don't know if Napier is the answer but he is making some noise in the college football world.

Listen to the play by play guy talk about the O Line coach and the O Line.

    Short version of highlights
