Assuming you're referring to St. Arnold's, I was very happy to find out that they've extended their distribution to include Louisiana. They're one of my favorite breweries .. Makes sense since most places in Louisiana are closer to the brewery than western areas of Texas.

Now I just gotta find a store in BR that carries it... Anyone know off hand?

For the most part, I stick with scotch for the everyday drink. Beer is too filling. When I do buy beer, I stick with the Abita's not necessarily for taste, but because they're local. Turbodog and Jockamo IPA are both exceptional and I love the Wheat on a hot day. I get a six pack of the strawberry every year for the novelty and the Mardi Gras Bock is tasty. Shiner makes a great Bohemian Black Lager. The Mrs enjoys Corona Lite. If I want real beer though, I go get a pack of Spaten Optimator or Hoegaarden. When I travel, I always try out the local stuff.

It's been at least a decade since I bought a Bud, Diet Bud, Coors, Micheloeb, etc. although I will drink it if it's free and there's nothing else. I really enjoy the taste of beer and domestics are just bland.

I think he was talking about Abita, but I'm stoked about St. Arnold's extending their distribution, too. Love Lawnmower. I haven't had their Christmas Ale in a while. I think I didn't like it last time I tried it.

You can find it on draft at The Bulldog, but I don't know about bottles. Maybe Calandro's or Whole Foods?

Ahh yeah, I realized that after reading the posts more thoroughly.

Lawnmower is the only one I don't really care for, but love the rest of the St. Arnolds flavors. You gotta like "hoppy" beers though for some of them.. Christmas Ale and Alissa are two that come to mind right off the bat. Also, if you're lucky (and quick) you can get your hands on some of their Divine Reserve, which to me is exactly what the name says.

Yeah I need to check those 2 out.. Ralph's Market may have it too I suspect. They generally keep a decent selection of beer.

Divine Reserve is like liquid gold to my brother. He can't get enough of it. If the Christmas Ale is hoppy then that might be why I didn't like it. Don't like my beers too hoppy.

Have you ever had any Real Ale beers? My brother brings me Fireman's 4 which is a Blonde Ale on a regular basis and he brought me a couple of Coffee Porters last time he visited. The Coffee Porters are seasonal, and I've asked him to get his hands on more if he can. Good stuff.

I just bought a variety of beers for the Christmas weekend, but I couldn't help but to get a sneak taste of one of them: Kaiserdom Alt-Bamberger Dunkel. As far as Dunkels are concerned, I'll stay away from this one in the future. It may be a good cooking beer, but it's just lacking in a powerful flavor to make me go back to it.

Some of the other beers I picked up include San Miguel Pale Pilsen, Leffe Brun, Paulaner Wiesn, Beck's, Beck's Dark, and Lowenbrau. Oops: I had to add that I also picked up some Korean Black Beer Stout, which isn't a great beer, but by far Korea's best beer. That's my "cheap" beer when I'm looking to get tipsy instead of just enjoying a beer or three.

I got a case of Fat Tire at a gift grab party on Tuesday night! Finally got a gift I will definitely enjoy. Last year I ended up with a penguin cocktail shaker we named Mr. Fancy.
