my only answer for you is big 10 schools are always over rated and both of these defenses gave up (40!) points. tigers would not give up that many points. we cant run the ball, so a run stopping defense does nothing to us. we would light em up in the air. Both OSU and Mich. cant stop the pass and who passes better than LSU?
As for Ole Miss...........did you truly expect a blow out? I did not. I knew it would be a very close game. bad day for tigers (AU and Miss St.) plus senior night, and it was Ole Miss's (SUPER BOWL). Coach O had a lot to prove last nite. 9 of 10 games Tigers smoke Ole Miss. OSU and Mich. also has bad wins this year (against worst teams i might add)

I guess LSU could drop out of the SEC and then notre dame and LSU could play their own bowl game every year.

Total BS. Did anyone including all the talking heads watch that game? It wasn't as close as the score indicated. OSU beat the snot out of Michigan and then made a bunch of turnovers to allow Michigan to stay close. That last touchdown just made the score close that was total garbage time at that point. I swear if that had been any other game than the Maize and Blue versue the Ohio State University, then that would have been what the talking heads would have said. No team that gives up 505 yds to the other team deserves a rematch.

We all thought LSU should not have dropped but LSU did - big difference. They change the rules/voting patterns whenever it suits them That was a completely overhyped game that was not a good football game, it was a turnover filled mistake fest where Michigan gave up 505 yards. No team that gives up 505 yards deserves a rematch. They keep it in the low 300s maybe.

Florida also gave up 391 yards to Vandy and 410 yards to South Carolina.

So, by your standards, Florida doesn't deserve to go either.

USC would probably be the only one, by your standards, that deserves to go...even though they lost to Oregon State...in that game, and the others that were close, they always had more yards with the Beavers having the most (351)

Like I said in another thread, I don't want to see a rematch...but there just aren't any teams better enough to go. It is #1 vs. #2....we can't just say...oh, well, since #2 already had their chance, we'll let #3 go because that just makes everyone feel good. It just doesn't work that way.

I have never argued that Florida deserves to go, however Michigan had their shot against OSU and gave up 505 yards. If OSU doesn't turn the ball over they would have hung half a hundred and the final score would have been like 52-28. Not so much a good game. I say give a chance to another team that has only one loss. The pollsters strictly left Michigan so high because all ESPN and others did was pump sunshine up the butt about this game. How can one so assertively say the Michigan is the second best team when they just gave up 505 yards and the only thing that stopped OSU was OSU. They must have watched a different game then I watched-OSU had their way with Michigan

I didn't say you said Florida should go...I'm arguing to point of who else could? A lot of the arguments being put forth against Michigan (with the exception that they already played OSU) can be said for a number of 1-loss teams already.

a one loss sec champ is going to have a great resume.

UF beat ark, lsu, uga, fsu, ut and their loss is to a top 5 team

Ark beat UF, lsu, auburn, ut (3 top 10 teams) and their loss, while big, was against so cal in first week.

So Cal's resume would be so good that they should go over ark even with their better resume because of the h2h, but so cal shouldnt go b4 uf.

Ok, no Michigan and no Florida. Then who?

USC? They lost to unranked Oregon State.

Arkansas? They got embarrassed by USC at home.

Notre Dame? Michigan destroyed them at home.

    Someone has to play OSU...

LSU needs some serious style points next week if we want to stake a claim for a BCS game. Arky losing 2 in a row to us and UF would help solidfy our case, and gives us victories over 2 top 10 teams to stifle the losses to 2 top 10 teams.

As for OSU v UM, Round 2, I saw this game already. It was a great game, and OSU won. If they rematch and UM wins, what does it prove? Nothing. The fact that UF got passed in the polls, and that UM didn't drop at least 1 spot, means that the pollsters are tinkering again, and that is just heinous.

At this point, I would rather have USuCk beat ND (lesser of two evils), and try to put ND out of the BCS (which will be very hard to do because of the pollsters). I don't think three Big 11 teams will play in BCS bowl games, thus eliminating Wisconsin. It disgusts me that UF blasts WCarolina, and drops a spot. That's just trashy. The problem for LSU is that, while it is the best of the 2 loss teams, any of the 1-loss teams can drop another game, and not fall below us. Again, stupid pollsters and their unconditional love for all that is USuCk, ND, Big 11, and non-LSU.

    In other news,
Boise State only has to beat Nevada and they will be unbeaten, and tasting the gumbo that Tulane ate a few years back. They will make a bunch of noise, but unfortunately, the will have to have their own party in the bitter cold on the smurf turf. Even if OSU travelled to the Smurf Turf, and braved the elements, Boise State would get crushed. It wouldn't even be close. So that's the end of the BSU argument. Should they beat Nevada, hats off to them for a nice season.
