Well isn't that your stance with Trump as well? BO may have been full of shit but he was President. If calling out the bad guys by name didn't matter when he was pres, why does it matter now?
Never said he was, and I am on topic. My topic is the double standard.

Yes, being hoisted up on your own petard is a bitch, ain't it. And before you jump in to immediately defend yourself as "not a liberal", let me remind you that I didn't address my post to anyone in particular. You just happened to be the first one to respond.

Trying to excuse what? Trump statement denounced the violence and urged the country to stand united. You want to excoriate him for that? The left is mad because he didn't say, "alt right violence bad, antifa violence ok?"

Thats my issue. He did denouce Duke during the campaign.

If you go back and look at his tweets on the BLM dallas shooter, he was equal in tone as he was yesterday.

Understood. Blaming is what people do. We all need to know who is responsible and the finger almost never points inward. That said, I'm trying to recall if anyone "on the left" on this board referred to the Ferguson protesters or the Dallas cop killers as domestic terrorists. If they did, I don't remember it. For those who didn't, it's the double standard now that is extremely frustrating.

Agree that there were many factions there who were part of the violence. Why not say that all involved were wrong???

Exactly. The fringe lunatics and the press who give them too much attention on a regular basis are defining the conversation. Social media is also playing a part as that's what these morons use to communicate with each other and whip up the frenzy.

There is a dearth of leadership at all levels of public office, from the White House to local city councils. And then we expect an often-vilified police force to fix it once the shit hits the streets.

Through all the false equivalencies and hypocrisies and double standards and delusions and racisms voiced by right wingers in this thread there is one prominent thing they can't deny: it's racist Trump, himself, who inspired these white supremacists to terrorize a peaceful town. How do I know this? FROM THE MOUTHS OF THE WHITE SUPREMACISTS THEMSELVES. David Duke: "This represents a turning point for people of this country. We are determined to take our country back. We're going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That's what we believed in. That's why we voted for Donald Trump. And that's what we're going to do."

So then this was an opportunity for people here to show they are better than those people who didn't call out cop killers in Ferguson or the Islamic terrorists in San Bernadino, and it seems like you and a few others have and then some haven't.

And since we are on the topic of Muslim extremists now......This move yesterday of plowing through people, sounds like something ISIS would do. In fact it is something ISIS has done many times over the past few years. And one more thing, there are still a lot of Americans alive in this country that have dealt with America's original terrorists. The Klan. Not ISIS.

Sorry I keep adding shit, but isn't the President's son in law Jewish? These people are anti semites as much as they are anti anything else. And he still can't call them out? This dude who calls everyone out? Even Jeff Sessions called them out. Jeff Fucking Sessions!!!

What a load of specious crap. I'll tell you how it's VASTLY different. Obama was reluctant to castigate Islam with the stigma of terrorism because he had America and the world to protect, because Islam is overwhelmingly NOT about terrorism, and it made no sense to our long term security to ignite a worldwide religious war. Obama's reticence was about protecting America; Trump's silence is about protecting his own hideous political ass.
